hey guys, first post here :)

heres my story, im 25 and ive never had problems with my hair, my front hairline has not receeded and i havent noticed any excessive loss while washing or brushing, just the usual rate of 10 hairs of something

but lately my parents have been expressing concern over my vertex area, they say its thinning and that my balding is beginning. while they have always been obsessive about this (my father is bald and my younger brother is balding progressively) lately they've been mentioning it more frequently and its getting me worried.
the stability of my front hairline has comforted me for a while but now im worried, is it possible for a person to only bald/start balding at the vertex area? ive looked at the back of my head and the hair does look thinner back there, but is it thinning? or is hair normally thinner at the vertex and they are just being overly obsessive? they've been telling me about my hair thinning for around 4 years but i really cant assess if its really progressively thinning or if its just been always thin

TL;DR my questions are
1) is it possible for hair loss/thinning to be confined to the vertex as opposed to the typical androgenic pattern?
2) is hair naturally thinner at the vertex area?
3) how do i assess if my hair is thinning at this area or or just?
4)what should i do, start treatment just in case or is it bad to start without a confirmed loss?

thanks in advance, im glad i found a forum i can ask at :)
P.S: my hair is longer than usual now, if that counts

It's possible, although your family sound unnecessarily enthusiastic about pointing that out to you lol. I think it usually comes with at least a little loss at the front, though. Couldn't help you out without pictures, but definitely don't jump on meds until you've got all the facts.
