Since I started losing hair, my hair above my ears started curling out of nowhere. Those hair are thick and rough in touch, doesn't make sense since I had straight hair all my life. Does anyone know what is this and is it connected to my hairloss ? (It started happening at the same time as my hairloss) My dermatologist didn't know what is it, just said "something switched in your body"
Not sure If it's visible in those photos since my hair are short, but it's pretty bad when I keep them longer

Your sides are thinning mate, correlated with male pattern baldness 100%, pretty common occurance too

Surprised no one said what it was yet. They are called whisker hairs and they're correlated with profound baldness at some point later in life. There's a study on them and iirc most that have them go up to NW7 later in life

Some seem to think that it's a continuation of your beard and for some reason it replaces the "normal" hair in that area. It's kinda rare too I think... do a search on Google for whisker hair and hairloss but I think that if you want to keep your hair, you'd need finasteride. No idea if itd be successful or not and no idea if it'd reverse the already kinked hair
