Everyone on here knows the whole, receeding temples thinning crown signs. In most cases, people dont realize those until they're past NW1 or 2. That being said, how can someone NW0 or NW1 know for sure if they're starting to lose their hair? Using genetics is the main way but what are the visible signs that you're starting to bald / thin. Please lmk.

constant over a long period shedding
If that was the case my gf who has the thickest head of hair I've seen who sheds a mouse everytime she takes a shower would be be completely bald.

Most people with true male pattern baldness don't even notice shedding. That is more for diffuse thinners which is a more rare pattern of early balding.

Recession at the temples is the first sign in the most popular pattern. I went from having a hairline down do my eyebrows to a Norwood 2 from 18-27 and didn't notice any shedding at all. Next is usually the front, midscalp and/or the crown/vertex of the scalp. Diffuse thinning is generally only noted in the later stages.
