I find that I'm losing my objectivity with regards to my hairline over constantly obsessing about it. My brother made a comment recently that's kind of fueled it. It's definitely receded but i can't tell what norwood stage I'm in and whether or not it's a good time to take some precautionary measures to maintain my current level
A little about me:
- First, since i'm canadian, let's start with the apologies. I know this board is sensitive to people going BDD and being scared about minor things while other people are suffering far worse from hair loss. This post come from an honest place of not being able to tell what's going on with my hair and I don't mean to offend. Lastly, the photos from a month ago are weirdly cropped because Imgur kept tagging them as adult content
- I'm a 27M
- My father has male pattern baldness, started receding more heavily in his early to mid 40s, and had a hair transplant shortly after at his hairline. His crown didn't start thinning until his mid to late 50s. My paternal uncle balded in his mid 20s. My paternal grandfather is 86 and a NW3. My brother is 1.5 years older than me and has a perfect Norwood 1.
- There is no male pattern baldness on my mother's side of the family.
- I've only been keeping track of my hairline the last year. I've never been one to photograph myself much but I can say that my hairline straight across has not changed dramatically for at least the last 3.5 years but the way my hair sits it's difficult to tell. I never noticed before but the left side of my hairline dips quite a bit lower than the right side and thus the recession looks more pronounced on my left side when viewed from my side profile. Does this indicate I'm moving from a normal mature hairline into deeper recession?
