Like so many bald/balding guys I am a living cliché. I've trusted the baseball cap for a long time now to hide my hair loss. I have a love/hate relationship with them. They are a godsend when it comes to helping me intentionally preserve a degree of emotional anonymity, if you know what I mean? You might agree they are not so versatile in the formal dress, and office, private dining/outing, etc,.atmosphere. In the colder seasons or on windy days I've always had a beanie near me on precautionary standby. For years and to no avail, I've searched for a different style of coverage. It wasn't until several years passed before that I broke from the baseball cap routine and reluctantly decided to introduce a hair piece or "system" into my lifestyle. At first this was truly a wonderful break from the restrictive dress code that a cap imposes, however the new sensation was short lived and the luster or buzz quickly began to wear off. For me it was somewhat labor intensive to install. I have and had terribly chronic case of seborrhea derm.(Nizoral 2% helped control symptom severity)but I had to wash the piece and naturally change the adhesives on nearly a daily basis. Moreover not only did I have to worry about concealing my hair loss I had to worry whether my hair piece would still fool the same people in and out every single looong work day. In the end I was barely fooling myself for I believe most of my fellow associates knew my secret. I wore a hair piece for approximately six years until I had to stop after I losing my job of ten years due to a medical illness. I stopped wearing one out of financial necessity coupled with the fact that I simply could not carry on with the maintenance to the level of standard I was comfortable with. I've been wearing a cap intermittently ever since. As I stated earlier I have a love hate relationship with my baseball caps. They give me a lot of freedom but it is conditional freedom. You know I never saw myself as a baseball cap kind or hair piece kind guy and to date neither have ever really grown on me nor probably ever will. The cowboy look is also out for me. At least for the time being.Still I am thankful I have some means of insulation from public embarrassment. There is a flea market five miles down from us. I know of a vendor who has been there for years who specializes in vintage hats. This weekend I may just have to make a point to see her.:) Adaptation pretty much boils down to what we can tolerate. Thanx for sharing. I enjoyed the opportunity to hyperventilate.

I agree with Mr. Walker. Baseball caps are my hat of choice. But I don't use it too much. I like to give my hair a chance to breathe wearing hats for long periods of time can cause sweat and moisture to build up in the scalp.

The end of April? That's still winter hat wearing weather. Indoors? Oops I forgot to take my beanie off oh well. I look like a completely different person with a hat on to the point where I'm not recognized. I try to avoid wearing hats because I hate that "reveal" and disappointment, hah... Never found something suitable in the summer either. Sometimes I would wear a hoodie with the hood up but I just feel silly pretty quickly.

Neyo wears a hat in almost every public appearance. Here's what he's hiding underneath courtesy of a mugshot:

nuttin. i wear no hats.

my current situation still allows me to have a long combover. I use it instead of a hat. Hair line looks like that of Caleb from Kings of Leon or Heath Ledger in TDK. im on finasteride to hopefully keep it that way for a while.

I have two fedoras... Screw the fedora haters lately

the point is to try and not draw attention to yourself. Walking down the street looking like Indiana Jones will raise some eyebrows - at least around where I live

I guess baseball caps are the only real choice for summer, unlesss you're brave enough to go with an unsual choice: top hat, bowler hat

Wow didn't know his hair line was that bad. No wonder he always has a hat on!

What do you guys think about bucket hats? Apparently they are the latest trend. I doubt I'll ever be trying it unless it was an actual bucket that might be worth the laugh.

Warning: My fellow baldites, regular and repeated use of hats may result in the unfortunate and untimely "Ne-Yo effect"! lol

Yeah bowler hats are cool in a restrictive setting. See about wearing one at the gym. :) Now that's even cooler.
Yeah

I really want a cool Bowler though
