It's NEVER too late in life for sh*t TO HAPPEN.

If you see more hair falling out than normal, it's because you're balding.

Treat the "cancer" at the earliest stage that you can, because it WILL SPREAD, just
like the "c" word.

Trust me, I know.

Everybody has a different experience. I was a full head until i was about 28 but it went down hill very quickly after that.

Mine was abrupt and severe. Absolutely no hair loss until 28. My hair looked like Justin Bieber. Then I noticed hair in my sink and then I started to take notice to the constant shedding, crazy amounts coming out in the shower, any time I touched it - boom - hair everywhere. Itching accompanied the shedding - it was awful. Noticed the temples receding a bit - I'm probably still a NW1.5 which I'm happy with. I was in some form of denial and tried to look for other explanations for a while but after about 1.5 years I said f*** it - time to treat this thing. Now on low dose propercia, super six II, basic hair/health supplements and dermroll weekly. 1% Nazoril just made things worse, created more itching and shedding.

Going to ride this out for a year or so and see if I get any results.

I'm also in great need of "chilling out" around this whole thing. The stress it caused me isn't helping the issue at all.

I'm 30 now. I was already receding my hairline by 23, then I'm stuck with the young Justin Bieber hairstyle and it was fine. I can hide it like Korean hairstyle look. Then it gave me a wake up call when I was 26, I started noticing the top of my head thinning and it is showing my scalp when there are bright lights. Thinning on top is worse than receding hairline and temples. It's the worse. I kinda let it grew it back for a few years until when I was 28 and can't hide it anymore. Used minoxidil in 2015, had great results for 2 years and regain my top, but in start of 2017 it just stopped working. I researched and my mistake was not taking DHT blockers like finasteride which caused DHT to overpower minoxidil which made it seem it stopped working. I now started taking finasteride 1.25 mg for 2 months and still continue minoxidil, had a bad shed and almost lost all of my top hair, but now it seems it stopped. It stopped my hairfall too. No more hair on my pillow when I wake up. I notice some growth on my top head too, but the process is turtle slow. But I'm seeing little results.

yeah man im only 21 and like as far as i know balding this early. ive actually been really stressed out since January so like im tryna make excuses and hope its that. and same im happy with my hairline although its not perfect. i also experience some itching like my hairline might itch for like 1 minute of the day and its not even bad i just touch it and boom the itch is gone. i actually got on this website tho i think in october wondering if i was balding cause i noticed my temples were far back but my hairline isnt bad at least i dont think. idk ill prolly give it a little more time and hope its not too late and f*** it ill just wear a hat if i go bald.

yeah like past couple days ive been keeping track of my hair in the shower and pillow. in the shower i wash out maybe 5-10 hairs in my hand which honestly is more than im used to. and when i woke up today it was like around 20 i swear lol. and i mean i feel like just last month i was maybe waking up to 2-3 hairs at most. my hair looks fine right now but im hoping it really is just stress but this just adds to it. if it gets worse ill go to the doctor and then decide if im going to take finasteride or something..

I haven't seen any growth result in taking finasteride yet, but one thing it did for sure was to stop my hair fall. You said 20 hairs on your pillow? I use to woke up more than that. Maybe 30 little baby hairs and 10 real hair, but now I'm quite shocked it stopped. The most I seen now is 2 strands of hair, and I'm always waking up now to 0 hair strands in pillow everyday. I used to see hair when I comb, but now 0. I hope I can regain my top though, it's quite thin and disgusting. It still has baby hairs when I look closely in the mirror but I'm basically at norwood 5 in daylight.

I was 21 and getting ready for work and I realized I'm pretty much doing a comb over. By 22 I shaved my head and tried not to think about it, and believed it was my genetic destiny. Tho, I had little options financialy anyway at the time. Ignorance is bliss, no, ignorance is poverty. I'm now 36 and reached a nw6 or worse. After having severe digestion issues I found some insight on male pattern baldness and for a bit over a year I've heavily researched hairloss. I've now covered my whole scalp in hair. And I'm probably a nw4 under bright light. But I'm positive I'll fully recover by September.

I started noticing temples thinning around 1 year ago when I was NW1. Now a year later the temples thinned out a lot to where its noticable and the top has slightly thinned out too. Overall heading to NW2+slight diffuse right now in only a year. Im the same age as you but my dad balded young af so I knew it was coming.

Theres a chance ur not balding. Post pictures. Your family history seems good though so even if you lose a little bit of hair you will prob never actually go bald until ur very old.

I have similar family history as Joseph and I went bald as fuk. I'm the only one to bald at 20 in my family. Tho there is hair loss, everyone has most of there hair till there 50'''s if not later in my family. I'm hoping since it's unusual in my family it indicates it's likely environmental factors. Definitely not genetic dystiny.

@Topher can you share any notes on your digestion issues? I hit 39 with zero hairloss. Dense long hair with my 15 year old hairline. About a year early a doctor started me on thyroid meds, and I had been on antibiotics for beard acne for 20 years and it destroyed my digestion. It all hit at once a huge Telogen Effluvium shed, another huge minoxidil shed and in under two years I went from nwzero to crazy diffuse nw2 and whats left is a frail birdsnest.

Lol sit down you are not NW2. You are NW1 with diffuse thinning likely due to something else other than male pattern baldness. The condition is gradual, your hair loss is likely to be all Telogen Effluvium. I am genetically balding in my early 20s and I don't shed as much hair as you do ( I saw your pics)
I would drop all your treatments, give it 6 months and your hair should bounce back. You spend an unnecessarily long time on here for someone so old and with so much hair.

Yes I spend too much time on here too for someone so young.

Sure, only 15% of the population has digestive issues like mine. I had a hemorrhoidectomy October 31. Doctor said "I had the hemroids of a 50 year old women that's had three kids" I had suffered with them several years trying every diet and medication there was. Start of October I couldn't sweep a floor without pissing blood out my *** and having to sit down in pain. That was when I found Danny Roddy and a raypeat diet. After 3 weeks on a ray peat diet I could do 8 or 10 hours of decent labour. I can't eat to much insoluble fiber due to heavy endotoxin due to my super fast digestion. This is my theory anyway. It's likely that stress had much to do with a lot of my health issues.

You have a lot of hair as well Andy and for some reason are going "Nuclear" with meds. In my opinion you should get of all your meds. Focus on your health , diet, lifestyle, mental health. It's likely you could reverse any loss you have had naturally. I'm not convinced you have anything but a muture hairline. You literally nuked you dick for some miner hairloss, and from what I can tell haven't had much success.

Damn @Topher thatbsounds like a rough go. Definitely nothing that bad for me. I’m just looking for a way to slow down the diffuse. I’m not here to judge what’s worse but the feeling of a diffuse vertex and crown and hair that’s just overall different is rough. At my age I’d imagine a thick recession would be more manageable. Sort of like the Kennedy’s deep temple recession but great thick hair on top.

Fighting off Finasteride but might try a low dose soon. Also wondering if losing the long hair might help the shedding. Right now it hides a lot and in my ignorance I hope it’s like a rain forest where the little velus hairs can grow in safety.

@bluecyclone yes It certainly was a ruff couple years for me. Especially since I had become a father about the same time. But life is much better now. If I had to wager a guess I'd say it's likely your immune system that's at least one issue. I'd probably try ceterzine if I were you. I'd also get my prolactin checked which if high can affect you immune system. Since you mentioned your thyroid Dr Raymon Peat would certainly be interesting to read up on. Or read "hair like a fox" by Danny Roddy.
