I saw a lot of people add Nizoral to their regime, but not sure of why. As far as I can tell FDA does not approve Nizoral for hairloss. I'm on rogaine and minoxidil right now. will nizoral help? 1% or 5%?

Where can I get the Nizoral by the way. Thanks.

Ketoconazole act as a mild anti-androgen, and it's a growth stimulant. It reduces sebum and inflammation, and I'm mainly using it as a treatment for seborrheic dermatitis. It increases the thickness of hair shafts, and the number of hairs in growth phase. It's available in 1% and 2% solution. I'm using 2%. 2% is available OTC in europe.

It's all based on a very famous French study which seemed to test Nizoral shampoo successfully as a treatment for male pattern baldness.

FDA does not approve spironolactone or RU 58841 for hairloss but that doesn't mean spironolactone or RU 58841 are not effective.

sure, it's not gunna win the battle on it's own. but it's relatively cheap, unintrusive and there's no real stigma or issues attached to it. you don't have to take any time out of your life to work it into your routine and it's not gunna kill your willy or anything like that.

EDIT: plus, obviously, people consistently have had good things to say about it :)

It helps well if you have sides from Minoxidil on the scalp. I mean those white shilvers which can appear, Ketaconazol shampoo helps me with this.

I've read in my Avodart receipt that Ket could possibly increase chances of side effects of Dutasteride. I dunno if that's been discussed before though?

I saw that but assumed it was talking about oral keto.

Nizoral hasn't done jack for me. If anything, my hair has looked its worse whenever I've used it. Best thing for me has been simple baby shampoo.

Rcom440, Ive been following your posts for a while.
You mentioned that hair signals didn't help you, did you stop using it already?
Whats your opinion about it after using it for so many months?
Thanks

I'm still on in. It's been almost a year and I think it helps a little bit but then again it's hard to say what is working and what isn't when you are using spironolactone, HS, minoxidil, Nizoral Shampoo, Nizoral Cream and Emu Oil.
