Hey guys, i just need to vent here and see your guys insight on this. Well basically i've been girl friendless for the longest time in my life now and obviously its very demodivating. I haven't changed anything, the only thing that has changed is my hair, so obviously i blame it on that. I know it can't be my personality because i have a very fun and funny personality, but anyway this isn't even the only reason i'm venting. I don't know if you guys have noticed this also but there is what i like to call the Emo revolution right now and 80% of the people i see when i go out to the mall or whatever are Emo which entitles long full heads of hair and being a scrawny 90-100 pound weakling. Well my best friend who is like a brother to me is Emo and looks like me at least that is what we have been told except for the hair department and the fact that i've been working out for a very long time so i'm a pretty muscular guy, but anyway i've been talking to this one chick for awhile and i really liked her and she is very hot and i thought i had a chance with her cuz we talked a lot and seemed to have a lot in common but as i tried to get closer to her she stopped talking to me for the most part so i talked to her best friend and she told me she liked guys with blonde hair and she doesn't like muscles, but here's the kicker her ex bf whom she was with for 4 years had brown hair like me??? and was the captain of the soccer team in high school so he was athletic but not very muscular. Also, i'm not huge by any means i'm 5'10 160 pounds but i have a very low body fat percentage. So basically i think the blonde hair comment was indirectly saying she doesn't like the fact i'm balding and the muscular one doesn't make much sense either. Unfortunately i'm not done it seems that this is a growing trend. My buddies and i were at a bar watching a UFC fight with a bunch of attractive women and we got onto the topic of working out and whether or not the girls liked muscular men and all of them said they don't like guys with muscles???? at all it doens't make sense. This isn't the only time either, i've had other girls say this too, so i feel like all my hard work is for nothing. It seems like no matter what i do its all a loss cause  thanks for letting me vent guys it seems like girls don't want real men anymore they want long hairs scrawny emo guys these days something i'm far from...

Hey,

I've been going to the gym for about 4 years now and when I first started going all I could think of was becoming super huge...but now that I've seen so many big guys (and by big I mean muscular) that's really something I don't want to look like.

I've realized that with my body and my baby face I look really good being "fit" and not "muscular." I don't know what it is but when I see a muscular guy I just think he's trying too hard but that's just my opinion. I personally just like the "fit" look.

As for the girl department, I think as long as you have a good personality and are not 300lbs you should be fine. Funny thing is, I used to be emo and now I'm not but I still wear DVS shoes and Fox t-shirts and it's sort of funny the attention I get from little emo girls when I walk by on the street or am on the bus. I guess as long as you're some type of emo they like you lol.

i don't think dvs skate shoes and fox riding gear are considered emo, well not where i'm from. we have very few emo people over the age of 21 anymore...the biggest taste of emo is going to a punk show. i love shows and i still go to all of them but i'm always surrounded by 13-16 year old emo girls and boys with too much hair who havn't started to shave yet. i have noticed alot of people calling everything that isn't rap or hip-hop "emo". i went to a rise against concert month ago, girls at the bar called me emo. i called them fat, they both had a fat FUPA.

and to the thread starter. theres all different types of girls, if one girl doesnt vibe with you that doesn't mean you're hopeless. you like working out and take pride in your body so why would you want a girl who only likes guys that are blonde and skinny. shes not for you, onto the next one.

Sorry,

I think my first post went nowhere in terms of understading what I wrote :hairy: .

If your muscular then be muscular. Somone, somewhere will like you for who you are. If the emo girl doesn't then she doesn't. I don't like dark chocolate but I like milk chocolate.

As for dvs, I don't think their emo. I have dvs, timberland, reebok shoes. I wear which ever ones I feel like. But the thing is that as soon as little girls see a guy with dvs shoes on the immediately think "OMG OMG LOOK LOOK he's sooo cool he's got dvs...he's so emo!" where I come from.

Okay, the whole girls liking muscles thing is way out of control. Going to the gym to get extremely big muscles to make up for the hair is ridiculous. Most girls don't prefer huge muscles. Most guys that do this look silly. Just be fit. Keep yourself in shape. That's what i do.

As for the "emo" thing. I'm almost 22. I've been into that stuff since I was 16. I wear the tight clothes and the shaggy/crazy hair. Girls do like it. A lot of the guys and girls I hang out with are in to it. Losing my hair has been a big downer due to this. The look/scene has become more mainstream over the past couple years, but it's not for all girls. It depends on the type of girl. Some girls think it's dumb, some like it. So, don't get yourself down thinking that they want that.

Women usually associate big muscles with being dumb and arrogant. So imo, they're not necessarily physically turned off to guys with huge muscles, more like they're just not attracted to their image. Sort of like how guys view girls with huge boobs. Most men like them big b/c physically speaking, they look better that way... but at the same time, it can be considered a turn off b/c the stereotype of large breasted women is that they're slutty/dumb/self-absorbed.

Also, I think it has to do with age too. The younger girls are more attracted to the lean, youthful looking guys with full heads of hair.... the older they get, the more attracted they become to the more manly muscular guys.

Wow, you are black? What a lucky guy!

jm0311, you're probably not a racist in real life, but those last two comments really make you come across as one....

Don't know if you're serious or just trying to stir sh*t up.
