well i m gonna start off by introducing myself like every newbie does and explain why i posted under cutting edge section. i ve been following this forum for quite sometime and really much appreciate the input given here. However I see certain things or elements need to be said that almost everyone missing here..
First off I am working as a senior supply chain specialist in one of the 3 big pharma (GSK, Pfizer, Merck). I dont wanna further disclose my identity due to the confidentiality issues. Let me tell you what I do in my daily work.. I work on topics to generate logistic savings which could make around 100-200k USD (annual). There are continuous improvement programs initiated, strictly managed and appreciated by the management. I said it to emphasize how valuable each penny is for the company. Can you image how much money you could make if u find the cure on hair loss? And guys these are big capitalist multinationals and willing to do whatever it takes to earn a dollar more!!!!
So returning to my point... Last week we had our annual team meeting where i had the chance to meet with our head of R&D. He said few things that might be useful to share with you all
1- Hair loss market for big pharmas is now in "dormant" phase. We do not want to launch products the likes of BIM, follicept, RU or kythera...etc. Simply because they are/will not be the full blown cure. Can you image us releasing a product which is not significantly better than finasteride? and only generates few hair follicles on ur head? if we dont live up to our promises, our brand image will be gone.
2-Science is progressive so we appreciate their input. But please do not forget that the ultimate cure will be found by one of these big pharmas. When I asked him about these products, he made a subtle smile and replied to me " if they had found the cure today, we would buy them next business day whatever the price they are asking for" . Guys, lets be honest, do you really think that we would just let some startup in Japan or Asia to scoop the market? Guys, if anyone i mean anyone is sitting on a full blown cure, we are ready to pay very substantial amounts that you could not ever image (same goes for all other diseases e.g. cancer). thats why I said we are in dormant phase, because we dont talk BS in hair loss anymore.. You are also mentioning here about some companies why they stopped launching their product or even canceled the whole project. This is the whole reason behind it... because no one has the whole answer....
3- Does it mean there is no progress on the cure? : I tell you this much guys.. he didnt give away any details on this but u should know that we are spending crazy billions of euros on R&D each year just to be the first one on finding the ultimate cure. On top of it we have common R&D facilities all over the world where all big pharmas join their forces to find the ultimate cure. (again it goes for cancer treatments as well)
4-It can take years, or 5, or 20, or forever but the next product launched by us will make NW7 to NW0. And trust me you would not read this on the ********* forum, it would be breakthrough news all over the world...
5- That makes my last point. I asked him about this forum. yet surprised by his reaction that he knows it.. I bet the team working on hair loss would know every one of you. This forum is very very valuable.. There are some users here (e.g. desmond hellouser....etc) who are very important for us. I would call them lead/key users to penetrate the whole hair loss market. Trust me if they found the cure, first thing they would reach out to you and you would be the first ones to test. So please keep this cutting edge forum intact, give authorization only to those certain users. Each piece of the information is valuable here.. I think we all dont want to see posts like am i going bald? pls advise old timer non finasteride....etc.
Thanks for reading my post and hope to inform you sufficiently. My advice, dont be obsessive and check this forum everyday.. the solution you are looking for is not finasteride or the others above. When the day comes it will find u.. BBC will announce it as last minute news. Just hang in there, u would not go to asia for the treatment, or waiting for the FDA approval.. guys in FDA are ex-pharma employeesi see some of you giving out about all FDA and stuff.... trust me if we have the full blown cure, it will be on the shelf in weeks time... do not underestimate the power of big pharmas. FDA is not a roadblocker, in fact they play very important role by weeding out the losers in the market. so trust me FDA is there for the good.. they would do their best and open the gate wide open when that time comes.
