When is it time to stop Rogaine?

I've been applying Rogaine to my hairline for almost two months now and I have seen a lot of shedding and my hairline has receded even further. People say that you should wait three to four months to see results, but I have also heard stories of people's hairlines being wiped out by Rogaine and I don't want that to happen to me. What should I do?

Personally I think you should wait at least 4-6 months before giving up on a treatment. Shedding at your stage is normal and a lot of people make the mistake of panicing during the shed thinking it's making things worse so they stop and then they never regrow the hair they lost because they stopped using treatments.

Wait a little longer

You shouldn't stop completely. Try it for a bit longer and see how you feel.

thats not true..wiped out my tuft..after using a week..i stopped.immediately and.my hair is starting to come back in that area

I have similiar problem. After almost 6 months on minoxidil Im noticing second, horrible shed, hairline is changing almost from day to day.
Curious if someone ever recovered hairline loss after year+ of using minoxidil...

The thing about minoxidil is that shedding and getting worse is something quite common. The shed is normally a good sign that thicker, and stronger hairs will come in. But a thing people also seem to neglect is they think they only have to go through a shed once, but it doesn't work like that every couple of months you are gonna experience a shed that is quite honestly gonna make it look worse before it gets better. It's why people who are young who post should they hop on Minoxidil are warned; simply because once you start minoxidil you have to keep applying it, you can't just get some good results then be like ah I'm done now.

Hair loss is something you have to combat and maintain on a daily basis. Always take before and after pictures, Minoxidil usually takes a minimum of 6 months before you see results possibly longer for people, there's also cases where minoxidil won't benefit the user and they should discontinue. But without pictures provided of before and after its really hard to tell you what to do. Its just that a lot of people mistake "getting better" as actually getting worse because in their mind their hairline wasn't that bad, or they don't remember it being thin in that area. But that's why pictures are useful, I can say that I'm guilty of believing what I had before was better then what I have now, but pictures helped correct that sort of thinking.
