Don't think society views balding the same way. It is perfectly okay in almost all cultures to ridicule a man who is bald/going bald. If my wife got fat due to overeating you are damn right I'd be pissed and if she did nothing to correct it, I would force her to get medical help. Its not healthy being with a morbidly obese person and you cannot be serious comparing it with baldness ?

The shaving the head, growing some facial hair and hitting the gym to look like Bruce Willis, Jason Statham or any other rich bald man gimmick doesn't work for normal people with normal jobs. Hence they find it difficult to attract or maintain long term relationships with someone they find attractive. Unless of course they are willing to compromise and lower their standards, they are going to have a hard time.

If I am married and considering the experiences I have had with people and women in particular, if those are the only negatives with my partner, I'll definitely not end my relationship and in all likelihood support her through it. Sure there is people like this, they leave their other for silly reasons, im not blind dude, im on about marriage aswell and as we know when someone marries iits cause they want to be together for ever etc. I have seen relationships though where one has got big or a guy go bald etc yet they are still together strong, i have seen REAL couples basically young aswell, not this vain couples you speak off, leaving something for losing hair, or getting big tells me that person never loves said person to begin with, just looks. So sure the people you explained are out there i never denied it, but i have seen REAL couples, so go ahead and believe you are doomed or whatever it is you believe, i have seen enough to know whats possible. Guys, to some women hair is important. To someone women being attracted to their man is important. If a man goes bald and his wife doesn't find that attractive and it is important to her there's an issue.

As men many of us struggle with our women's weight. Genetically some women are going to get fat. Look at their arms. Look at their moms. It's not as easy a changing their life style. But it is easier then us men who go bald.

I'm pretty sure my ex left me cause of my hair loss. She never said so but when I quit finasteride that's when things went down hill.

I lost all of my hair pretty much over the last 2 years with my current gf and it doesn't bother her. To each their own.

Now the thing that pisses me off is that my friends always have to comment to me on my hair with their bs advice. What's with the military hair cut? Why don't you shave it? Gross you have a shaved head. I wouldn't have taken hair loss. It's no big deal. You look like a cue ball. What's with the hair? Ffs people! I don't care if they think it's ugly. Just don't ****ing comment on it or give me advice on what you think I should do with it. No matter how long I grow it out, buzz it, or shave it I will get a comment.

Until I'm all the way bald this will be the case. It's like they don't understand what balding is. God damn 20 to 30 year old morons.

Weight gain due to food addiction is consequence of someone who is stressed, depressed, or suffers from anxiety. So Exodus, you are correct. And since depression, stress , and anxiety are at all time high because we have to conform to a narcissistic shallow "all about looks" society, we are going to see more obesity as well. And since baldness seems to be one of the worst things that can happen to any male, we are going to see forums like this grow and more men getting hair transplants just so they can attract more women so they can get married and then divorced. Sounds like a really great plan. Where every one fails is that they need to fix the "inside" before they fix the "outside". However, some will argue you have to fix the "outside" to fix the "inside". However, its the "inside" that will always rule your life.

Morons is just about the right term for them, mate!
You see, to the follicly privileged, there is always something "better" we could be doing with our hair. It doesn't register with their very small brains that we are actually doing the best we can with what we've got (hair wise).
I only pray that nature gives them a wake up call. But I'm dreamin'.
The privileged are destined to live a life with little experience in what its like to always be ****in' paranoid about the state of your hair/head.....well at least up until about their mid 40's or so.

Yoshi3Mario, I am willing to bet anything that your friends who think hair loss is no big deal have essentially full heads of hair themselves. That's ALWAYS how it goes. These fullheads could never fathom what it is like to deal with true baldness because they have never lived through it, and that is why they make such asinine comments. It's even the same way on the forums. Whenever I see posts complaining about all the negativity on the forum, or people spouting inane cliches like "it's all about confidence, brah" or "take the insults on the chin", it always turns out that the poster is like an Norwood 2.5 or less. They still have most of their hair, their looks are very minimally altered (if so at all), so they are not subject to the ridicule, rejection, and torment that truly bald men very unfortunately are. But I do respect DannyBoy because at least he is practicing what he preaches. Therefore he is not a hypocrite.


We live in a very image-conscious society where a person's physical good looks are most important by far. More so than ever before in history. Just take a look at all of the social networking sites (like facebook, instagram, tinder), where people post literally thousands of photos of themselves (especially women). On these social networking and dating websites, what a person notices first and foremost are a person's physical good looks. And women do not get all dolled up and post revealing and sexy photos of themselves just to attract a man with diminished looks but great inner qualities. And unfortunately, baldness does deteriorate most people's outer looks often dramatically. That is why this forum is filled with lots of sad and depressing thoughts. Because baldness is so drastically and negatively affecting our lives.


That being said, I wouldn't say that baldness is an automatic deal-breaker, but it truly is a great hardship. There are some guys that can make the look work for them, particularly men with darker skin and big, muscular men. I've been a big, muscular weight-lifter for my whole life and present some of the qualities that would possibly make me look good if I shaved my head yet I just cannot do it. But unfortunately most of the time baldness does make a person look uglier and less good-looking. In today's world, physical attraction is essential and comes before all else. And unfortunately most times a man with a full head of hair will be much better looking than a bald man.


An unfortuante fact of today's society is that it is very immoral and unethical. Women are more self-centered than ever and use their physical attraction to get whatever they want. And if they are not attracted to a man anymore based on his deteriorating good looks, you'd better believe they will seek greener pastures. Even the married ones too. Today, marriage is not the sacred institution that it once was and that it should be. Cheating has become so prevalent that I often wonder if it is the norm. Although I will say that it does help if a couple has been together for a long time and/or has a child together. If a man goes bald then, the woman is less likely to leave him.


Being fat is also an unattractive quality but at least the fat woman's partner knows that she can lose weight through hard work and diet. It is possible and it is done all the time. Yet there is no truly effective way to regrow hair and that is why many women are reluctant to date and stay with a bald guy. I also saw in this thread the argument about a person not leaving their spouse or significant other if they have some disease like cancer, yet that is totally different. Cancer is viewed as a devastating and fatal disease (which it is) and despite today's society's terrible lack of morality, any person that leaves another cancer-afflicted person would be seen as a total and complete wretch. Yet despite the mental and emotional turmoil that baldness inflicts on a person, it is still viewed as comedic fodder. Baldness is truly the last bastion of political incorrectness and no one would really look down on a woman who ditched a man because he is losing his hair.
