Not really. Thick nw1s have around x2 that much on top or more. 120 should be like thin chick hair. Good enough to pull off a decent haircut and live your life happily ever after tho. It's crazy how we don't notice density loss unless it's very advanced

Tsuji is amazing yes, but faster ? naah, it's been since 2012, progress was made but we're still far and only human trials will deliver answers. feasibility effectiveness and safety would take 3-5 years to determine & it still hasn't started yet.

We're really not far away man. Human trials is nearly here and it's the final stage. It all hangs on this. They said they would commercialize it by 2020, so don't see why they would wait 3-5 years.

Because human trials are partitioned in 3 phases, each phase takes 1 to 2 years sometimes more depending on the results and their interpretation. and in this case especially they would also have to watch the evolution of the follicle, it would be obsolete if the follicles generated would produce only 10 cycles then die (god forbid) or if the implanted follicles get rejected by our bodies after some time like any other transplanted organ, many questions that would need time to answer. for now i'll stick to my prediction 2025 minimum if the treatment is safe and viable

If it takes 3 phases and each one takes 1-2 years, then why have they said that they plan to release it in 2020?

They said 2020 cause In japan they don’t need to go through 3 phases they just need to show it’s safe and effective. It will be out around 2020 don’t listen to people that don’t know what they are talking about

In Japan, cell-based treatments can be commercialised once safety is proven, aka only phase I trials are required. Therefore, Organ Germ Technology (OGT) treatment could be available by 2020 in Japan, as long as the 2019 trial comes to fruition.
I’m not even worried about price, I’m willing to pay whatever for nw1 or nw2. When I say I’ll do whatever it takes for full head of hair, I mean it. If this can be promised, and it cost $50k,....I’ll be ready to head over to Japan in a week with $50k check. And I’m far from rich but I’m serious when I say, I want the “cure”.
My only concern is
1. Most likely this won’t work...almost certain
2. Guy in the YouTube video is just some kid that doesn’t know any more than most on this forum
Until I see a video with proof and actual head scientist confirming the date for operation availability then there it’s all just fantasy.

This human trial projected date, is this a fact? Every medical trials I’ve seen, are always moved back years and years. In the hair loss industry, most never reach human trials (even after a date was scheduled).
How is this any diffferent? I really do want to know. A lot of us think with emotion rather than with logic when it comes to “hopeful cure” announcements. Is this a fact that trials will begin this year?

1. Based on what? All research/statements suggest it works.... Tsuji can already multiply stem cells. Human trials (apparently) are all that remain at this point. Not downplaying it, I know human trials are no small thing. But how are you ALMOST CERTAIN that this won't work?
2. Yup. He had a hair transplant, and is on finasteride. But yeah, many on the forum know more than he does.

I’ve had 2 hair transplants, fut and fue. Also had fue into scar as well as smp. Been on all the meds available. Getting these things done doesn’t mean you know much of anything.
I’m almost certain bcs there’s just not enough proof of anything. Why was there no info given in that convention? Something this big, especially if promising doesn’t go unnoticed in a yearly convention like that. This has been in the works since 2011 or so, not seeing any new real data. Results on mice mean nothing. The head researcher is rarely to be seen or heard from. When potential $$$ is involved you’d think he’d be more open to the public, more hype. This is the same vibe you got from christianio, follica, and few others we gave up hope on from just last year. “We’re nearly there,...just 3-4yrs”. I sound like a Debbie downer bcs I’ve read all the previous threads in this forum. It’s like a never ending circle chase. Im hopeful bcs this cloning is the only logical “cure”, but I’m not seeing anything new that I haven’t read before.

just safe and effective ? yeah probably one year trials is largely enough for that

Phase I trials are conducted for safety evaluation and they usually last 6 to 12 months.
Efficacy is evaluated in phase II clinical trials, which Riken is obliged to conduct, even if it can release OGT in the meantime.

Man,, I've got to read up on some basics of the regulatory framework in Japan. someone please explain this sh*t though... how come they are talking about a release right after the first trial?

That last part of your post (bold) is what bothers me the most. Seeing people posting the same stuff.... hyping treatments, saying things like "we are close" ten years ago, just like we are now, is depressing af. I also believe we are making progress. But yeah.... realizing this hype is nothing new is scary.
