No. This is considered a Phase lll “ A pivotal trial is a clinical trial or study intended to provide evidence for a drug marketing approval, e.g. by the United States Food and Drug Administration. Phase III trials are assumed to be pivotal so the phrase is often used for the rare pivotal phase II trials.”

Always glad to see Follica progress . Not tryna derail the good news, but is there anything that actually states that this is for the pivotal trial, and not just an optimization study?

I have a feeling Follica has done additional research that makes them confident this will get to market. The fact that they have a site and app in works and have basically started marketing it (based on what I read from some dermatologists a couple months ago) reinforces that. Things can always go wrong tho.

They've also consistently stated that the treatment can create new follicles - maybe their short trial is based less on regrowth and more on looking for evidence that new follicles are developing.

If it is testing for follicle neogenesis (new follicles) then theoretically 12 weeks would be enough. I doubt 12 weeks is enough to prove hair growth though but who knows.

Found something in the Follica patent description WO2012078649A1

A part of their claim. Which also explains why the phase III is so short, they claim there is some short of result at 3 months.

4. A method for treating baldness in a human subject, wherein the method comprises:

Here is how the procedure is

Yes it should be. Phase lll are usually the longest when it goes to systemic drugs especially. And because there are hundreds if not thousands of people in trials. I know follica is taking a different more efficient path because of the way their treatment works. Unfortunately they seem to be taking their sweet *** time with it though.
