That's the thing. Adult life have just started and he's going bald like millions of other guys. Some are even TOTALLY bald by that age. That's so f#cked up. I do not know why this condition isn't seen as a disease. So men many feeling low with poor self-esteem. GET A CURE NOW!!!

It’s not a disease. It’s genetic. Hair loss is natural and isn’t caused by a pathogen or foreign entity. You can’t cure it in the sense you are thinking. Once a gene is expressed, it cannot be undone.

One day we will probably be able to delete it from future generations with genetic editing, but the idea that it can be cured in someone in which it already exists who already has it isn’t even on the horizon. If we could cure genetic conditions in the afflicted do that we would be able to cure genetic cancers, cystic fibrosis, Down’s syndrome, Huntington’s, etc...

I saw an interview with the UK's Head of Hair Restoration and he was saying how male pattern baldness should be seen as a genetic condition — not a cosmetic issue. Obviously the cosmetic element exists, but you could say that about any medical problem that has an adverse effect on one's appearance.

A few things that seemed to have a correlation with my own correlation are:

- usage of pine pollen tincture
- cutting out dairy and getting more calories out of plant-based foods
- improving sleep
- cutting out alcohol as much as possible
- quiting p**rn

Thanks man. It's not a happy go lucky story, I am not happy about my looks and about what happened to me, but I can function and soldier on. Thoughts of suicide still cross my mind, but it's rather a cold rationale and not an instinct driven urge due to an unbearable state of mind.

what about taking DHT? some dude on dealing with side effects said he checked his DHT after pfs and it was low, basically his body couldn't produce enough dht anymore after years of finasteride use, once he started taking DHT he said all problems were gone.

It's tough man. For me balding came with premature facial aging (stress related) and impotence as well. Naturally these things had a serious impact on my personality too.

Not trying to win a pitty contest, just saying I can really feel your pain...that dread, grief, loss and kafkaesque alienation of oneself is so disgusting. No one should go through that. I am slowly accepting it, having a girlfriend and getting my life back on track, but still I will never be the same...well that's not completely correct, there is an artefact of my old self burried in my dreams, but I encounter it less and less.

Time won't heal those wounds, but you will accept it one day and deal with it. It's a long process.

This is pretty f*****g crazy.
The way some people can not care about balding / decide to shave their head and own it. How some people can living in anguish knowing that they are going bald.

You need to do the following:
1.Delete ALL social media(unless you use it for motivational purposes). Social media only shows the highlights of peoples lives, the reality is almost everyone has an insecurity or 2 of their own that affects them just as much or more than you balding and they use the likes/comments to boost their ego/self esteem which makes them forget about their demons for a while. 99.9% of people lifestyle on Instagram is unsustainable ie who the f*** can afford a vacation to a different par of the world every other week and pay for rent/mortgage/bills/etc.
2.Get on your purpose, if you don't know what your purpose is you need to find it and monetize it (it's usually anything you are passionate about). You are 21 years old which is very young - Honestly everyone in their 20's is a f*****g retard in the nicest way possible. Stop comparing yourself to other people and start grinding. If you aren't working 80+ hours a week at your age then you are heading for a cliff. Getting on your purpose will give your life meaning and 99.9% of the time you won't hate what you do unlike your job. Ones you start to see some success it will boost your confidence and ego a little bit.
3.Takeup weightlifting as soon as possible if you aren't already. All the videos you need are on youtube.
Getting in shape will boost your confidence and ego in a good way, also physical exercise is a great way to relieve stress and anxiety, also your body releases natural drugs (endorphins) when you exercise.

NW3 is not so bad at 21 so you have time to take care of your hair until a hair transplant(use good shampoo, eat clean, don't smoke/drink etc) and wait until you are in your late 20s/early 30s for a hair transplant.

This is pretty much what I did except I didn't have social media to begin with (I'm 32 now)
I started losing my temples at around 18, didn't notice that I was balding until 26 when I graduated and realized I hated my line of work which I went to college for I did some research about hair loss prevention at this time, learned about finasteride but didn't go for it because I read about all the online horror stories . At 30 I was NW4 and heading for NW6 or 7 and that is when panic set in. I decided to do a lot more research and take on finastriede/start using good shampoo without any side effects. I have a FUE booked in exactly 2 months from now.

Ive said the same thing forever. There are links to male pattern baldness and depression so how is it not considered a genetic condition. There are literally zero benefits and nothing but negatives to it.

I'm well aware. And i'm probably overreacting. But still, this condition is so f#cked up. what are the purpose of going through something like that in your teens/early 20's, thats something i'll never understand. It's your prime, and you have to walk around with thin ugly *** hair, OR accept fate and go completly bald. Something that really wouldn't suit me wit my babyface and oblong egg shaped head.

I hear you on that. It’s also the reason a cure isn’t likely any time soon. We are nowhere near the point of genetic editing for embryos, let alone fully developed human beings. At this point, the notion of somehow curing this or any other genetically rooted issue is the stuff of science fiction. With this kind of tech, we would be able to wipe out hereditary cancers

At this point, we don’t know enough about this field to even determine if it’s possible to deactivate an incorporated gene. Even if we assume the answer to be yes, the technology required for something like that hasn’t even been conceptualized. You can’t build a machine without knowing what it’s supposed to do or the machinations that would enable it to do so.

Honestly, its far more likely that we will “cure” future generations by intervening in utero and preventing its expression than it is that there will ever be a way to remove it from a fully developed human being.
