So I've been finasteride or Proscar for about 7-8 years so far. I first started off with 1mg propecia then the dermatologist prescribed 5mg finasteride to break into 4 which is way cheaper than propecia. Maybe hold off on the surgery. I have saw some hairline regrowth with that combo, but it was pretty slow. Slow as in years if you are willing to see it through that long. But again, every person is different.
