Does anyone know of any good places to go for hairpieces/cut-ins in the Sarasota, FL area?
I can get information from Google, but I heard about my last hair place in New England by word-of-mouth on this forum, so I know this is a good place for leads.
Thanks for any information I can get!
Interesting ideas, but I'd have to find a salon in my area that will let me supply my own hair piece. At this point, I have no plans to learn to cut my own hair.
I'm a bit confused how to how much I should be tipping my stylist (in the US) for a new piece installation, which includes bonding and cut in. The new piece, bonding, and cut in together come out to $605. I know the common rule of thumb is to tip 20%, but tipping $121 on this seems awfully steep...
not sure, but it was dense enough that it required quite a bit of thinning before I left the salon, especially toward the front.
The hair is pretty wavy, but never curls back on itself if that's what you mean. It's wavier than my natural hair, but the texture difference is not noticeable once my...
I’ve been wearing for about 2.5 months. This is my first hairpiece.
If you meant whether wearing my hairpiece has ever been uncomfortable, unfortunately, occasionally my scalp does itch under the piece. There’s nothing I can do but maybe “pat” the itchy spot to try to take care of the itch when...
There's nothing quite like the feeling of a fresh, newly-dry bond. Especially if you gave your scalp a good shave before rebonding.
Just got up from a nice Saturday shower, shave, rebond, and nap and thought I'd share this :)
So far I've only told two people, a trusted work friend and his girlfriend, about it. I was mostly just trying to confirm with them that my piece looked realistic. The girlfriend didn't believe me when I said I was wearing my hair at first!
I didn't even tell my parents while spending a week...
The piece:
I wound up getting an Ultra Thin Skin base with v-loops. Hair itself is medium brown and wavy, just slightly lighter and wavier than my own natural hair. I wanted a "silent" transition to a piece where no one would know about it, so this first piece has a relatively low density and...
Hi everyone,
I do remember Joshmw, and it was actually from him that I got the idea to go to Fabi of Rome. I also remember that he was going through some personal issues at the time that made him not want to bother with a hairpiece. I had that first appointment yesterday, which was the guy that...
Fabi of Rome in CT. Small place. European hair, but can't decide on the base. (I'm naturally sweaty, but don't want something very fragile for my first piece. I also typically cover my hairline with my hairstyle anyway, so a slightly telling hairline isn't necessarily a deal breaker. Do you know...
I've made an appointment for getting my first hairpiece this coming Saturday in the early afternoon. The first thing I'll be doing is the initial "consultation." Can anyone tell me about what this typically involves, and what questions I should be asking? I already know the very general stuff...
