Hi I've been on minoxidil (liquid) for about 7-8 months now and have noticed a number of shortish hairs along the hairline. They are all about 1cm in length and are clearly darkly pigmented - are these still considered to be vellus hairs? Has anyone seen these grow out into longer 'normal' hairs...

Most people do get them but some don't, just like some people don't go grey when they're older.

Thanks alot - I think your hairline looks fine though, can't see much recession at all. Actually I don't see where the small hairs are or where the 2.5 area is supposed to be? Do you mean the hairline itself or up into the temples?

Hi Aplunk do you have link to pictures of your temporal recession (and where aboiuts the rogaine fuzz is?)? I only ask because my hair is in pretty much same shape as yours and I've just started on treatments for it so I'm keen to see what can be done for it. Thanks

Thanks, so if you are losing hair relatively slowly you could potentially keep the minoxidil hair for a good many years?

I'm still a little bit confused about minoxidil effectiveness over time. If I grew substantial minoxidil hairs in 1 year would I expect to keep this 'minoxidil hair' if I continued to apply minoxidil over the years?
