Even if upregulation was real (it isn’t), Dutasteride would be a fix as it inhibits 99% of type 2 DHT. Even if the receptors were jacked up there wouldn’t be enough DHT to hurt them.
Hey man. To me, it looks more like Tellogen Effluvium. Your hairline is more dense than your top and you don’t have a bald spot. Just general thinning on the top. I would see a dermatologist to make sure. Are you on any meds that can cause Telogen Effluvium? Any iron, protein, vitamin deficiencies? Normal...
I don’t disagree, however, given that Dutasteride inhibits 99% of 5AR2 it’s likely then that his Dutasterife is fake, damaged, or he’s one of the 1% that don’t respond.
I suppose you’re right.. but man, have got been seeing a doctor to monitor your hormones and health?? I’m happy you have your hair back, just be careful bro.
If Dutasteride isn’t working then it’s likely that your hairloss could be thyroid, stress, vitamin deficiency, or something else. Dutasteride will cure hairloss that’s due to hormones, but there’s lots of other causes.
Wow. Just wow. I can’t believe the lengths some of you will go just for hair. Lowering test, taking estrogen, oral spironolactone. What good is hair if you lack muscle and have low body fat?? I thought I was intense with my Dutasteride but man I think you guys need to re assess your priorities.
Happy for you man, sounds like great progress. I firmly believe without a potent anti androgen there’s no chance long term >5 years. Finasteride blocks 85-90% of 5AR type 2 and as a result, 86% of people maintained or grew hair over 10 years. Dutasteride blocks 98-99% so it would be reasonable...
LOL at people recommending RU yet saying finasteride or dutasteride are poison. Remind me, which one’s are FDA approved and have a proven track record? Hop on dutasteride and Nizoral and forget HairLoss forever.
Don’t bother with PRP. The results are even more modest than LLLT and its more expensive. Just invest in the cheapest laser comb and use that. I truly believe that someone on dutasteride, nizoral, minoxidil, LLLT and with a good diet could never lose hair.
Hey buddy. First thing I would do is book an appointment with a dermatologist to assess if there’s any underlying causes like thyroid, iron, nutrition, or tellogen effluvium. If there’s no other causes, start using Nizoral 2% and minoxidil 5% with your hair cut to a 1 on the sides and like 3-4 on...
That’s 100% tellogen effluvium. Don’t panic brother. Keep stress levels low, keep exercising, and ensure you’re getting enough vitamins, minerals, and protein in your diet. It will grow back. Be patient.
