It'll always make you smell better and it won't make your hair fall out any quicker so what's to lose. Also if you do start on minoxidil it's wise to shower regularly to prevent build up of the spray and the itch it can cause.

Give the finasteride time to kick in - I got itching for at least 3 weeks until it stopped after using the pills. Also a good conditioner does help as does a good anti-dandruff shampoo such as head and shoulders on the days you aren't using nizoral. T-gel may be a bit harsh so you may want to experiment...
