Strange how we all react differently, I was on proscar 1.25 mg for about 4 years, never one problem. Been on avodart .5 mg since dec 2002, no side effects. I hope it works out for you. Especially since all side effect rates foe 1mg are less than 1% when compared to placebo.

Minoxidil all the way, must use it consistently twice a day for best results. Even if you only have time to get it on for an hour before you shower. My hair thickens up like a weed on the stuff. Proscar/propecia stops loss but minoxidil thickens things up greatly.

Thanks for the input. I think I am switching back when my avodart perscription expires. I did not see much improvement from one to the other and have given it about 18 months.

Yes, both times. The first 30 days my hair getts thinner. It is always the thinnign hairs though that seem to be lossed. I belive they come back thicker and they are jump started into a new growth phase.
