1/4 tablet of Proscar

I am breaking up Proscar into 4 peices and i am takeing it with breakfast.
I was wondering if one little peice of proscar would have any effect if it is taken with food.My thought is that it is to small and would get mixed with the food and not go into my blood .i would like your opinion. Thanks

i dont think so i havent heard of any negative effect with food or without it gets process throughthe liver so with food should be ok. the only thing i might want to watch is having it with booze but even then havent heard anuthing bad about it. I know if you take the drug with grape fruit (i do this) it is mean to increase the half life the drug has in the body, nit such if that inturn has any effect on the effectiveness but what the hell i like the idea of it being in my system longer lol helps me sleep more secure : )

1) Finasteride has a flat dose-response curve. I.e , within limits, a little works as well as a lot. This gives a lot of lee-way.

2) The blood half-life of finasteride is short, eight hours or so.

3) However, the bound that finasteride forms with its target enzyme is so strong that it likely takes synthesis of new enzyme to restore activity. Likely, this takes 3 days or so, at least.

So, use finasteride when and if and don't worry too much about time of day, food, etc.

I just read someone saying these. I agree with the first 2 points, but the last point, I would contradict a little. The target enzyme is not strong enough to restore the activity.
