One month in on the big 3 and still losing.

I had really hoped being on the big 3 would slow or stop loss but no sign of it. My temples have not shown any sign of quiting moving back and nothing showing in the recession where I work the minoxidil in most.

The front continues to thin also.

Not really the start for the New Year I wanted, hope I will see something this month.

Any suggestions of how to kick start things more or is it just patience.....

patience bro. very few people see even a stopping of hair loss after only one month, although to be honest, it's very difficult to tell if your hair loss has even stopped after one or two months because it's such a short period of time.

have faith- you're on the big 3- 3 proven products. you should get at least maintenance from them.

most people don't report solid regrowth from minoxidil until at least 3 months in and propecia regrowth can take even longer.

Im using minoxidil on the temples for past 7 weeks and if anything I lost ground cos of the shedding and perhaps natural continuation of male pattern baldness.

I did start seeing new hairs at about the 5 to 6 week mark.

If you did start growing hairs on the first day u applied minoxidil they would only be 1cm tall after one month... and if they are the terminal type you might be able to see them properly.

Thanks Guys.

You're right I have to keep the faith and give it much more time, that's the difficult thing.

Odd thing is I don't seem to lose much hair on pillow and haven't done all year, washing is the most - maybe 20-30 hairs. It obviously doesn't want to regrow and its my hope the big 3 may persuade it.

Yah, I cant find my lost/shed hair either. Even in the shower. Sure I lose one or two here and there, but nothing major... not that I'm complaining mind you...

1 month is too soon but let me give you this advice.

TAKE PICTURES! Make sure you take good quality pictures so you can rate your progression. You will not believe what tricks can your mind play. You may think you have lost like 40% of your density while being the same. You may think you have receeded about 1cm on the temples while you have regrown 1mm! You dont need to be obsessed or crazy or schizophrenics to have this effects. Many things can affect the way you see your hair. So PLEASE make sure you take pictures so you can rate your progress. Otherwise you might stop treatments after a while because you think they are not effective, although they have halted your hairloss. SO PLEASE TAKE PICTURES...its mentioned on the general hair loss treatments forum faq. I dont know if you get what i mean but TAKE PICTURES. It may actually be the most important part of your regime!!

I know what you mean sphlanx and appreciate the advice. I hate looking at my self in the mirror let alone taking pictures is the only snag. I will try at some point, I will not stop my regime though as I have done so much reading on this forum to make a decision to go on big 3 and it has to work and I have to keep on it...i'm trying to keep faith.

One month is nothing. I am six months on the Big One (Finasteride) and my hair is getting worse and worse though I am still optimistic that I am just a late responder. Come here and join our whining. At least for me it helps a little bit.

In some cases it may take a year to see any results (if any).

You need lots of patience with hairloss treatments.

I feel like locking myself in a room sometimes and not coming out for 6 months and hope that this nightmare is all over when I come out and it all grew back.

All I keep wishing for at the moment is stability at least I would know my low point..I just keep getting lower every week at the moment. I would really like to start looking forward to something, I could even think about hair transplant then to fix my rapidy retreating hairline. Gains I don't expect for a long time if I get any, just to stop the loss would be a dream.

When I first started taking Propecia in 2002 I did not see results until month 4, and then I saw more obvious results in month 6. That was the only product I was using.

Look into supplements that speed up your hair growth, and get a light tan, you'll be doing everything in your power at that point.

well dude, i'm 11 months into a regime of minoxidil, finasteride, nizoral etc and it's just been getting worse.

There isn't a "cure" for male pattern baldness. Some people can have a reversal and decent regrowth, some have just stabilisation, many contnue to lose ground, although probably at a slower pace than if they did nothing.

don't expect miracles, but do be patient - there are a lot of good responders out there, let's hope you are one!
