Hi guys,

I am 27 years old, and have been losing hair for last 2 years in one spot on the front, on the left side.
I haven't seen a doctor yet, but clearly, doesn't look like Male pattern hair loss (i have dense hair overall and the hair loss is only taking place in one location).
Now this sounds like Alopecia Areata ... But ! while taking a closer look at the empty area, I could recognize lots of tiny thin hair ! So I had the feeling that it's not really empty. It's just that my hair in this area stopped growing. What do you think this is ?

Edit : I do have to say that an emotional shock might have triggered this.

Hard to say atm and w/o visuals. Might be the onset of male pattern baldness. Those tiny thin hairs you see, can sound familiarly like hair that's adversely cycling to downgraded DHT impacted hair. I can easily be wrong. Is your hair naturally thin(individual strand not density)? Lets hope your Doctor has more encouraging insight. Just remember some docs have a bad habit of telling us what we like to hear. Get on this ASAP. All my best

I really think you should consult a doctor about this asap to avoid this from getting any worse. The sooner the better!
