I've been on Propecia now for a year. I started thinning at the front and generally looking thinner on top. I started using Propecia last year which has been great but in the last few months I've now noticed i've got a small thin area in my crown.

Does anyone else have the same kind of experince are a year?

Yep I gotta say I've also thinned out on top, been on for just over 12 months. I'm gonna stick with it a few more months see what happens. I'm pretty sure my hair did improve in the summer but not massively. Pretty sure its slowed my loss down though.

Hi,
I've decided to start using Minoxidil 12.5% and see what happens. I'm a bit gutted that Propecia was not able to maintain my hair count.

Once I start using Minoxidil will I ever be able to stop? or am I going to have to continue with additional products. (as hair is getting quiet expensive!!)..

Yep unfortunately once you start using minoxidil or any other drug for that matter you need to continue using it to keep getting the benefits.

Maybe you should consider trying propecia for a little while longer? Some users have reported not seeing effects til a few months after the recommended 12. I'm hoping this is my case to.

Also starting with minoxidil 12.5% seems a bit strong, you may want to start with 5% and see what results you get from that also to see if your scalp can tolerate it. Good Luck anyways

How have you established that finasteride did not maintain your hair count? That is such a wide open statement and presents misinformation to those who are on this website for the first time in order to learn what finasteride is and how well it may or may not work. Without posting before and after photos, statements like this should be taken with a grain of salt the size of Texas. I have not spent time to see if you have posted photos in the past because I just don't care that much. All I can say, is if you have not posted photos then every statement should be preference with either "in my opinion", "based on my own daily obersvation" or "based on the attached photos". The same would be true if someone just came on and said they had this huge hair growth from finasteride. One's own observations are totally bias. Thanks.
