Hi, I'm 33 and about a monto ago I used the foam twice a day for about ten days then quit due to sides (blood pressure). I have experienced a massive shed in the front about two weeks ago.

I can't get back on minoxidil. Will the hairs that shed come back to as they were before the shed? If not I'm screwed... if they do how long will it take? I'm guessing they will come back in 3-4 months?

Thanks in advance.

I've found the following from an older forum in hairloss forms. I did not come up with any of the following.

"In 1999 Dr. Vera Price did an outstanding study of topical minoxidil in which she examined some issues which, to the best of my knowledge, had never been looked at before. One of those issues was exactly what happens when you STOP using it! :) Everybody knows that you'll lose any hair you had gained if you do that, but Dr. Price had the foresight to test it in a more systematic way, to determine the rate at which you lose it. Here, take a close look at this pair of graphs which were included in her study:

out dated link

As you can see from the graphs, there was an immediate and precipitous decline in both haircounts and hairweights upon cessation of topical minoxidil, but then they bottomed-out after a while, and began to rebound. After six months, they were virtually back to normal ("normal" meaning the same as the placebo users and the no-treatment group). So it does take a while, but eventually things will get back to where they would have been, had you never used the minoxidil at all. " -Bryan (Respected Community Member) August 17th 2008
