10 Months Complete on dutasteride + (2.5 weeks on RU)

Its now near 10 months complete on dutasteride (0.5 mg daily/1 pill)

Sadly there has been no improvment, just continous shedding and the scalp is more evident than anything. The frontal bit is now also thinning.

A little over two weeks ago I added RU to my topicals. That is a ~5% RU solution in minoxidil (standard minoxidil solution 70 ml + 3g of RU). RU was pale yellowish and had a funnyish smell, which dissolved upon shaking to give a clear pale yellowish solution.

If anything I think the shedding has increased, of whatever is left, I am now contemplating if I should go back to finasteride now or wait out and see the whole 12 months...

Comments and sincere advise will be welcome....

for me also no improvement when i took it for 5 months heavy shedding and no improve bad dutas...again back into finax..use nizral 2 % definitely it will help you out more sebum in head. good growth of new hair try it....

So have you recovered from DUTAS? And how long have u been back on finasteride for? What changes have occured to your hair since quitting Dutas?

i was a Idiot and have make a New attempt and take one dutasteride after 9months as i quit this sh*t drug
this one dutasteride was sooooo bad
big shed and fast to straw Hairs - thinning on top and Frontline extremly fast
and Hairloss all over the Head

i was bevor 2Years on it, i lost 70% from my Hair arround the Head
the Rest ill straw Hairs

dutasteride is good $$$$$$$$$$$$
and the biggest lie on this Board $$$$$$$$$$$
i think dutasteride is here Pushing from Distributor for Money
and these people are non-existent other interested $$$$$$
dutasteride have No Phase 3 but this is a Way to sell this sh*t

dont break down duta, it works with many people...

i'm 11 months on duta (avodart)
got 2 sheddings
but now stable , O% shedding/hairloss and verry thick hairs....
it could be with my large regime also...
i think duta is not for everybody , a person on our hairforum had lost a lot of hair
because he switched from fina to duta....

i filled in my shedding shedule of the months i use duta on the shedding timeline topic...

maybe add some topical flutamide 2% to your regime ?

i dont know effect of original avodart. but dutas its thickned my whole hair .but heavy shedding past few months on dutas (generic dutas )fucked up you know no small hair shedding heavily every shower i took bad bad dutas i thought it may recovere but i dont a have faith in duats ..back into finax anyone knows which is best

I was on proscar 1.25mg for 2 years before switching to dutas for 6 months. No change. Maybe I'm blind. I got off though because everyone's reports got me worried. That and I don't like the thought of inhibiting 94% of my DHT. No side effects. Just got worried and went back on finasteride. No sheds. Hair is still the same as it was 4 years ago. Not sure what to make of all this. Sometimes I wonder if NW4a was as far as I was destined to go anyway.

I'm nearing the 10 month mark on dutasteride too and I'm praying that my shipment of Fincar comes in the mail within the next couple of days. I too was contemplating on waiting it out for 12 months but I lost way too much hair over the 10 month span for it to be considered just a temporary shed. I never experienced anything like this when I was using finasteride.

one important thing to keep in mind here..your hairloss might be progressing very fast. If drug A worked ok at year 1 it might not be sufficient at year 2.
therefore whatever new drugs you switched to might appear to be less effective than the previous ones.
All the scientifically proven data we have on dutasteride is that it reduces a lot more DHT therefore it must be more effective than finasteride..but comes a certain stage in hairloss and even dutasteride will not be sufficient anymore.
As a 7 years finasteride user who switched to dutasteride for the follwing 5 years, I cleary noticed that dutasteride was far more effective.
