So I'll either stay on and be depressed due to the extreme hormonal fluctuations, or get off and be depressed because I'm going bald faster than ever.

What a life.

EDIT:

Symptoms are:

-Tired almost constantly unless I can sleep in and nap whenever I want
-All exhaustion is in my head--body almost always feels fine
-Extremely emotional with pretty bad mood swings--almost like bipolar disorder
-Angry almost constantly
-Violent thoughts
-Numb--feel like I could kill someone I don't like and it wouldn't bother me one bit
-Nothing makes me happy anymore. At least not for an extended period of time.

-On top of that my joints are shot
-My skin is super dry
-Wake up to piss 2 times MINIMUM every night

I felt so... It's hard to describe... Angry and emotional the other night that I wanted to saw my own head off with a kitchen knife then beat my body to death with it. You probably think that's completely insane, but that's the only way I can describe how I felt.

I was at a bar tonight and just wanted to start screaming and destroying everything. No reason. That's just how I felt.

do you had those effect when you were only on propecia ? Or this is worse since you have added dutasteride ?
It seems like dutasteride sides effect ; more frequent urination, and possible brain effect because of type 1 dht inhibition .
OR those sides were there on propecia ?
In my situation , i have the exact same sides , paticularly, when you said you feel like a robot and never happy , and could kill someone you don't like without being bothered . This was even before the meds , This is when you are really depressed .

Funny you brought this up... I just bought and have been taking GABA. I took theanine a while ago and wasn't sure if it did anything, but I might try it again. I think the GABA might be helping me get BETTER sleep, because I've slept less this weekend, but feel (a little bit) better.

I can't say for sure. It's been too long =\

I think I might actually have Chronic Fatigue Sydrome.

Do you like the person you see in the mirror? How do you rate yourself and your hair?

If I had a full head of hair and no forehead wrinkles I could probably have a serious career as a male model.

I still think I'm a very attractive man, even as as norwood 2, but sometimes I DO hate my receeded hairline and relatively large forehead. My number one passion in life is fitness/exercise/lifting weights, and on top of that I eat a very clean diet and take a lot of beneficial supplements. I've been doing this for years now and it's definitely paid off and improved my looks, so I don't feel like an arrogant person by praising myself a little bit (I'm actually a super humble person and used to be extremely shy as a teenager).

It's just that it pisses me off that baldness is something we have no control over--like height. There's almost nothing we can do to stop it. This is also the reason why I don't feel as bad for fat people as I do for bald/balding and short guys. If you're fat you CAN change. It might be veeerrry difficult, but it's possible. If you're short or bald, however, you're just screwed.

Damn Man we have the exact same mentality. You are not frightened to get gyno with duta and ruined all your years of lifting? Balding is So unfair.

You sound alot more fortunate than alot of people on this forum. I am sure if you say you are as good looking as you are, you can still be a male model. Mostly every guy on this forum would love to be NW2 and look like a male model.

You are not considered truly balding until you reach a NW3 and even then most people( except the members of this forum) are not going to notice you have a problem especially if you look like a male model. You sound like a "perfectionist" which is nothing to be ashamed of but its going to stress and depress you more when you can't control what it takes to be the person you want to be.

Depression could happen from various reasons and it doesn't matter if you have no wrinkles on your forehead and you're a NW0, rich or poor, you have dozens of women or can't get one woman, etc. if you are predisposed for getting depression you will get it. The #1 cause for depression is genes. There other causes like seasons, your brain's chemistry, your personality and social life (how you were raised/what peers you surrounded yourself with). Only a psychiatrist can help you pinpoint the source. Go see one ASAP if it's really that bad.

Its normal to have some weird thoughts and even compulsive behavior, its those who deny having them that are not "normal", if there were such a thing as normal. It could be as simple as you focusing too much on thoughts that arent abnormal in themselves, youre just paying more attention to them than you usually would, maybe even elaborating on thoughts that just randomly surface and would otherwise disappear.

Strange you got it in a bar though, i think alcohol suppresses that kind of brain activity very effectively, and im pretty sure it does for me. This reaction to alcohol may be connected with your fatigue? Anyway dont get distracted with shrinks just yet, that way youre paying even more attention to it.

Yes but when you're taking a medication that has depression listed as a side effect, along with the fact that he wasn't depressed before. I'd say it's most likely the meds, you'd have to be blind to think otherwise.

Not every one who uses finasteride gets depressed though, I suspect it's only those who are predisposed to it. Which comes back to square one, he should see a specialist to better understand what's going on and how he can fix it (probably more meds).

Depression is no more a side of duta or fina than paracetamol. Stop making excuses, man up and stop listening to softies with ed or m2fts, try to be a man and face ur problems instead of resorting to explanations based on modern soft values. Luckily we are into a period when men are once again allowed to be masculine, take part of it and stop identifying urself with ED men for a while. Men measdures thrmself against men, not unixes.

Thank you. Now i can stay registered here, i was getting a little fed up with this forums stereotype "all hairlossers have ED and testosterone deficiency".

for the record, i am not saying everyone who takes finasteride is depressed. I take it myself, and im pretty happy about things, besides my f*****g hair. But its not farfetched to think that throwing hormones out of wack can cause depression in some of the users, denying that is just insane imo.

Its far fetched enough. How on earth can you prove lack of predisposition? I'm sure one or more person must have had a perceived thickening of hair while wanking, is that an indirect proof of furry palms? There's always a far fetched connection, that's y we r encouraged to apply common sense, try it too please.

Gijoey, I was once texting with my gf 200km away when we both experienced an earthquake, please do NOT tell me texting causesctectonic disturbances...

You know, I do like the uncalled-for worries of testosterone deficient persons, but in my case those persons are girls, ie they have a natural explanation for worrying. Its not cute in guys, so please?

If you're gonna try to compare this to the possibility of depression when taking a hormone altering drug, then i have nothing left to say. Theres no arguing with that mentality. Also, whats so hard to say that yes, the possibility of depression is VERY possible, but thats all it is, a possibility. Seems like you're in huge denial brotha.
