Im on my 11th month and I've been shedding almost everywhere and everday for the past 1 to 2 months. Some days are worse than others but whats weird is im shedding from all over my head, even my sides and back. This has never happened before. Getting kinda antsy.

Yeah, This is happening to me at 16 months in, I had some good regrowth between months 6-9 but around 10 weeks ago I started to have a shed and its all over; sides, back, crown, vertex, temples, and frontal areas of my head. I just cut it short, I've been using and still use 1% Nizoral, 1mg Finastercide / day.

Starting to think about adding the new Rogaine foam but this "shed" seems to be slowing down a bit since it started roughly 10 weeks ago so I'll probably hold off on that; atleast for now.

Has anyone else had a problem with this?

anyway good luck to you sorry I couldn't be much of a help.

I have the exact same symptoms as you hans at 11 months. My crown area is incredibly thin after a 2 month shed. Im hoping this stops quick, I've even gotten back on minoxidil 5% I'm hoping this doesn't make it worse.

I am glade to here I'm not alone, been on the big 3 for almost 11 months and I am to freak because in all this time I have had little sheds here and there but this one is massive compared to the past. I cut my hair a bit shorter this time and you could see my scalp a mile away, I'm very concerned because I would think this stage I would be responding better. I thought I was having decent progress for months, then this happens, its hard to stay in a positive frame of mind. Do you think its time to try something else or should I not be concerned and just keep doing what I'm doing? Starting to loose HOPE!

Well, if the Big 3 don´t work then you really have a problem. There isn´t so much more you can try.......My advice to you would be to stick with your treatment and don´t give up hope. I know it is hard, but I am also almost six months into treatment with finasteride and still losing ground (though I have still the minoxidil option left....)

Stick with what you are doing!! finasteride can take up to 2 years to kick in. It took me about 22 months. Others have had the same result. You should all get off this message board, buzz your hair off so you don't notice sheds (also you can moisturize your scalp and it won't itch anymore), and keep taking your finasteride until the 2 year mark. There's no point in speculating, the meds take time. Don't get discouraged, just try to put it all out of your mind for a while.
