well, sadly i'm back on the board guys. This post is long, but i havn't posted in a long as time, so if all you newbies want to read a real guys propecia story just check it out.

If i posted this message 2 months ago it would've been a phenomenal success update. Around month 11 on propecia my hair probably peaked in terms of regrowth. As some of you know i would classify myself as a Norwood 1.5 - 2, with deteriorated hair quality on top. My main regrowth came as mainly lowering of my temple to solid Norwood 1.5 and some phenomenal thickening of my hair. I seriously havn't even thought about hairloss for like 6 months.

I remember exactly when i noticed the change in my hair. Around month 12 I remember one day my hands were wet and i ran them through my hair, and for some reason i noticed there was like 30 hairs on my hand. I then took a comb through it and the comb was packed full of hair. Since then I've had to get 4 haircuts in the past 6 weeks.

Not only has my right temple receded to almost a NW3, its diffused all the way back to the crown. Additionally the top is diffusing all over. One of the weirdest things is that the hair seems to be growing out in the most randomest of directions.

Now my questions -
THIS sh*t EVER HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE?! I mean i've heard of regrowth rollercoasters, but this late into treatment???? As far as rollercoasters i've gone up like 10 feet and dropped 30 so far.
My "shed" (if you wanna call it that, but last time i checked sheds were liek 3 months in kinda things) happened best i can tell around month 12.
I'm gonna shave my head i think really soon. I can't stand losing so much hair so quickly.

My treatment is 1/4 proscar daily / Nizoral 3x week / 2000mg MSM

Could it be your shedding season? There are countless stories about people that sheds on the same month every year, many of them occurs in spring.

Diddy,

count me in in the club..like you i experience pretty good results in the first 11 months then all of a sudden last december i can clearly remember one day i was routinely combing my hair and noticed a freakishly huge amount of hair sticking out of here..ever since that day things have been going down..i started minoxidil around the same time..it made me only shed more..have to quit it..i have upped up my finasteride dosage to 2.5 and added folligen last month and recently i have added spironolactone 2% too..but things are looking bad right now..the front has thinned dramatically to the extent that i have to use toppik just to look decent :(

iam keeping fingers crossed and praying to god for things to turn around in the coming months

Man I´m sooo sorry to hear this :(

Think of things you did the last couple of months, try to find a red thread or some rutine that changed or didn´t change. I know it´s hard and I know that you´ll probably think of stupid, pointless stuff but who konws?

For me it the story went like this: 5 months ago I had hair that would make HLTs hairline of four years ago like fairly average. I kept loosing hair in the shower but since I only washed it every 10 days or so I didn´t think about it at all - it has always been like this.

I remember now that my scalp used to itch more but nothing dramatic and no redness etc.

Then one day, a month ago, it hit me like a ton of bricks - my hair is dead!

And when I mean dead I mean 1) thinning 2) thin 3) limp

since I´m a medstud I can talk to professors and drs about this and they said - possible stress, probably male pattern baldness. I got on finasteride, nizoral and minoxidil 2% and have so far gotten really good results - fingers crossed right.

The first week I just went over what I had changed during the last 6 months of my life:

1) I used to do cardio 6 times a week before breakfast even if that mean at 8 o clock in the evening.
2) I used to eat pretty fat free but carb high (slow carbs) food.

Then six months ago I thought - man stop this.

1) I cut down from 6 days aweek of cardio to powerwalking 3 times aweek followed by 20mins of building muscle.
2) I started eating healthy cutting down on carbs and eating alot of nuts and other foods with lots of good fats.

What I realise today is this - my doing cardio did push my testosterone to very low levels and taking out DHT from the system.
My not eating alot of fat made it harder for the body to synthesis testosterone.

I have to say that I never felt better during those 6 months. Never been leaner, never had more muscle never had better skin (although I´ve always had really good skin).

I´m back to cardio, back on carbs not fat and after less then four weeks I´m seeing black hairs growing, lighter colored hairs growing and less shedding. Also and this is the biggest improvement - my hair is much less limp.

So look for changes in your daily life no matter how stupid they may seem.

And the best of luck.

Great, it was your post months ago that made me look forward to the great results I could achieve, and now your back with this. I feel for you. It's bad enough losing it to begin with... To get great results and then see it f*** off must be tragic.

Keep strong. Maybe it will get better again.

Am I the only one getting increasingly pissed off with the entire world?

diddy, I remember seeing your last post a little while back. Your results looked great, but i also remember you stating that you have might have gyno. Therefore you were going to drop the finasteride dose to 0.5mg a day. Did you do that? Maybe that's what triggered this nasty shed. And do you still have or ever had gyno? Hopefully its just a bad shed and things get better soon.

Dude when i read your post i thoght wov thats me too.

At the 14 month mark. Im confident that it is just passing considering the insane amount of hair i lose. People going bald dont lose their hair like that. At that rate anyway. Since we have been og Propecia our body can take it. So it is just a shed. Remember that our hair growt are syncronized so when we shed we shed :-D Or am i way off here ?

Bump for the Newbies.

Yep, this is the same guy who had awesome results at month 9, he shed to sh*t, but look at his later updates... It all came back even stronger than before... DO NOT FEAR SHEDDING!
