Ignore the first comment. I hope it hasnt scare mongered you.

Your Too young for treatment. So see where you are at 18. And go from there. Your hair looks fine now. It may well stay same for many years to come. Keep these pictures and compare them to when your 18-19. If your hair is thinning then you can consider starting the usual treatments. Forget about this for now and enjoy life.

your vertex doesn't look pretty healthy but it can be OK, it doesn't mean you are balding

wait till 18 as mentioned above but do a photos every 6 month to compare

It CAN happen in 16 tho, many of cases even in this subforum

Thanks for your response, in the meantime, is there anything I could do to stop it worsening if it is the case that it is receeding. I've heard of using shampoo containing certain things etc. but I'm not too aware of these sort of things.

It's such a shock for me because I could never imagine being bald at a young age, obviously when your in your 40 / 50s it's a different story but I really wouldn't want it to get any worse than this (I know it's not bad) for another 10 years :/

Cheers for any help.

Yes we've been here.

I never thought I will be on hairloss forums in my early 20-s.

Is it possible stress from exams etc. could be causing this?

No. Not this case for sure. Receding on vertex and temples is 100% male pattern baldness. BUT not sure that you have it so far.

Also check your father and grandfather by mother whether they're bald/balding.

I think you're good for now man. That "spot" on your crown is just a part. Just monitor it for now.

Unfortunately I don't know my farthers side of the family.

My grandad on the mothers side is nearing 70 and luckily still has a decent amount of hair remaining.

My mothers brother is now mid 40s and is not completely bald but has very thin hair on top.

That is good. I had full headed grandfather (both) but caught this gene from baldcel father.
