My hairline looked a lot like that when i was 16. I'm 19 now and its progressed from there. Although it hasn't gotten worse in the last year before of things i've done (no drugs).. I'm not going to suggest something that most members would frown yet but if you're interest go to the experimental forum and look for the thread i started.

at 16 that looks like a mature hairline IMO

what was your hairline as a child..... that would sure help with this diagnosis of a mature hairline.

what are your relatives hair patterns like?.......that will surely tell where you may end up

take care bro

Balding is a very slow process in most cases. At 16 you are way too young to go on propecia (ideally you would be 20). So I say wait it out for a while and enjoy your youth. Check ever so often and if there is obvious recession then come back to us. I had a very simaler hairline at 16 (now 19) and its mostly stayed them same since then. Your hairline could either be male pattern baldness or simply natural, its hard to tell at this point.

BTW man don't fret. You have a full head of hair at this point, nobody but you thinks you're receeding. It takes a long time for people to notice these things.

no offense but mature hairlines do not develop at 16 years of age, this looks like male pattern baldness to be and possible thinning in areas behind the line. Sorry to say but minoxidil will help regrowth

Hey guys sorry I haven't been updating. But I finally got around for an update.

I shaved my whole during winter break and I think if worse comes to worse I can pull of that look when the time comes. My head was made with a compass. :p With that here:

Thoughts?

Yep, you're clearly receding.

Propecia is a bit early right now, I wouldn't mess with your endocrine system at that age. Even at 18 I'm not even considering taking it, but I'm still not sure about my hair loss so that's another story.

Same goes for Rogaine, the side effects are not worth it (premature aging, bloated face...). I know the sides don't affect everyone, but still, you are young and healthy, I wouldn't change anything. Also, there will soon be a solution for hair loss (see RepliCel), maybe in a few years, so try to cope with it a bit longer man.

Plus, you have a good head shape, so there's no problem IMO.

Things I would advise you to take: Nizoral 2% (or any other ketaconazole shampoo out there), it's a weak/mild DHT-blocker which can really help slow down the hair loss and will keep your scalp healthy.

Coconut/emu oil, same here, weak/mild DHT-blockers, antifungal and will make your hair thick (which is why you lose your hair btw, it becomes thinner and thinner until it completly vanishes).

And if you want to push things a bit further, you can also take the Spirolactone S5 Cream, which will help fight DHT (I don't really know how efficient it is, but it has some good reviews).

Everything topically off course. That's how you can fight/slow down hair loss without major side effects.

Keep your head up bro.

Can you post a pic under natural light of the top of your head. The top right February pic looks like you have diffuse thinning but it's hard to tell from that angle.

Yes, you are losing your hair. I agree that Propecia is not really a great option at your age, although that's probably for you and your doctor to decide. I think minoxidil and Nizoral will be enough to keep it at bay until you make a decision on Propecia. Don't hold out for cutting edge treatments. Finding a cure within the next decade would be a miracle IMO.

looks like you are receding bro, sorry to say that. 16 is way too young, on a side you are very handsome and have a good shape of head, you could shave it and move on.

we have all these treatments especially replicel coming down the pipe too, dont worry too much.

and please please no matter how many cases you read about propecia, I strongly advise you do not take it at such young age.
