So I noticed my hairline was a lot worse than my friends about 3 weeks ago. I hit puberty super early (i started shaving at 11) and the only male in my family to prematurely bald was my dad who lost a lot of his hair in his early 20's (which is still 5- 6 years away).

I literally shat a brick when realized and can't really sleep, one of my friends already joked my hairline looked like the McDonalds sign so I got a trim and wear my hair swept over my forehead to hide it a little.

I think I know the answer to my question (am I balding!) but i haven't told anyone how i feel and how scared i am right now. I need a second opinion without confirmation bias and all the snake oil bs online. I've always had a high hairline but it looks like my temples are being eaten away (it also feels itchy as f*** and 2-3 hairs fall out when I adjust it).

Please look at the picks, any opinion is appreciated,
Thanks..

Yeah, your temples have taken a beating and you are at NW1.5 or NW2 atm. Can't really tell if it will get worse and at what pace because for now it still looks reasonably thick. My hairline looked like that at 20 and 4 years later it is almost the same, though my hair has thinned considerably (without being too noticeable) throughout now. You having hit puberty and grown facial hair early is a bad sign, as it shows high levels of testosterone. Either way at your age there aint nothing you can do about it.

What is your family's hairloss history? This is the most important question.

You are likely going bald it may be very slow but you should see a dermatologist.

Did you experience an early puberty?

You may feel like sh*t learning about this but you are actually luckier than most of us who were not even realizing they were going bald at your very manageable stage. We are very well informed here you did the right thing by posting your pics, when most people choose denial or delusion.

Tell us about your family history. Go see a derm.

Idk how this is usually structured, but my dad was noticeably balding by 22

Dad's dad: Full head of hair (white) at 70
Mom's dad: Severe balding but average considering his age started losing it around 40-50 i think

There aren't many males in my close family, i have a cousin who's a little thin on the top at 24 but 2 who are alright in their late 20's (cousins on my mom's side).

Not sure if that's helpful but if I am losing it what would you recommend? tell my parents and go to the doctor? not sure if either would take me seriously.

Just tell your parents you must see a derm for some other reason if you are too embarrassed. A dermatologist will not find it trivial.

Young guy. Welcome to the world of being an adult. Well not that it's easy being a kid but these are adult like problems nobody should have to face until they are about 40. You've gotten on top of this early. Education is your best friend.

Balding for sure. But see your Doctor and have your thyroid levels checked, balding so early is not very normal, many doctors recommend seeking medical advice if balding in teens orvesrly twenties. If they find a problem and can treat it your hair can grow back by it self.
