Hey guys,

I'm new here and just wanted to know your opinion on this.
My dad was NW2-3 at 18 and is now Norwood-5 at age 50, he is the only bald guy in the family most males have Max NW3.
I am still worried though because i think i'm balding too.
I've read the stories about non function penises etc, but i probably won't get laid if i'm bald so who cares.

My hair as of now

Thank you very much!

You need better lighting in your photos, but from what I can see you still have a full head of hair with veeeery slight receding. Go see a derm and if they confirm youre balding then finasteride will help you keep what you got. I wouldnt get on finasteride until I got a professional opinion first.

Thatbaldingteenager dont rush to get on propecia and minoxidil because you think you are balding. Understand that once you start them you cant go back. Also finasteride doesnt work always the way we want it and its little effective on the hairline and temples if at all from my experience so far. Just try a topical like spironolactone for some time which i am planning to do and then reconsider.

what the actual ****? Please stop with this bull****

I would say get the **** on propecia if you want to save what you have, what's gone is hard to get it back.

Once you start them you can't go back? Sure you can just drop the treatments

It is effective on hairline + temples, it's just that the hairs on your hairline/temples are the most sensitive to DHT so they are the first ones to go. Overtime damage accumulates to the point of no return.

Budskii do you really believe that finasteride is efective on the hairline /temples. Do you have u any success there? I used to believe it is but now i am not sure. So why the hell there are so many cases where finasteride actually didnt do a thing for the hairline and temples or hurt their hairline. What reason do they have to lie. Yeah i know people will say ''its that your male pattern baldness its too strong for finasteride to do anything'' yeah right what a convinient answer. I didnt believe them either and jumb on finasteride hoping i will maintain my hair. Three months and i ve been shedding every day my hairline took a hit. I actually regret taking finasteride as my first treatment. For some people finasteride will make more harm than good and i just hope i am not that case. Thats why i recomend trying a topical like spironolactone or whatever works and then reconsider using finasteride.

There is no reason why Finasteride shouldn't work over the entire Norwood area. This myth that it doesn't work at the front comes about because the temples are always the first areas to go, and when they're gone it's too late - nothing will bring them back.

Also Merck only did their trials at the top/crown areas so they couldn't, for technical reasons, state that finasteride would work at the front. That doesn't mean it won't work there

Go to the brightest spot in your house using the brightest camera you have and take pictures. Wait 2,3,4,5,6 what ever amount of months and take pictures in the same spot with the same camera. Compare them... Right now don't start on Propecia or minoxidil.. In several months you won't lose that much hair; it would only be noticeable in pictures or to people with OCD. Also try finding a mole or mark close to the hairline and use that as kind of a land mark. Good luck buddy!
