So my hair loss has been really effecting me these past few weeks, and after nearly 2 years of trying to ignore my hair loss I have finally pushed myself into at least looking into options of slowing down my hair loss. Having started balding at such a young age of 17, I am just looking for some advice on how to slow down my hair loss. I know that I am probably going to end up a bald guy :( however If I can maintain most of what I have until I am 22/23 I honestly would be so grateful.

Anyway, this is my situation. My frontal hairline has been receding into a wicked widows peak over the duration of the past 2 years. I must say I think I have done relatively well to conceal my balding thus far, as I have not had anyone comment on my hair loss as of yet, however I fear that I will soon get to that stage. I have no thinning in the back of yet, but there must be about just over an inch of my original hairline left, the rest of my hair is still quite thick.

So, what are my best treatment options if only my frontal hairline is receding. I have heard that finasteride can accelerate hair loss which has put me off this far. I have also heard of Dustasteride and Something called RU? please could someone give me some more information and advice on these 2 drugs?

Thanks.

Seems silly for a medication proved to help balding to accelerate balding. But some people here will say that. I don't really agree with it though.

All you can do is take finasteride or dutasteride. Throw in minoxidil if you want. Not much out there. I'm a heavy receder as well. It's harsh so I feel your pain. Good luck

Hey buddy, check out my thread if you want to contribute with your view on that matter. I do agree that it's a silly idea, but the great recurrence of those claims freaks the hell out of my balding temples person. I'm almost creating a list of threads and tagging users that reported that...

Thanks man, if you don't mind me asking do you use dustasteride? I've heard it is supposed to be more beneficial for the hairline.

I use finasteride. And it hasn't helped my hairline very much, if at all. But it has helped my crown. I can't get dutasteride. I've tried.

The thing about being on these meds is that you don't know where you would Be at without them. So it's hard to say how much they help.
