It's pretty hit or miss, but 2 months really isn't enough time to evaluate how effective it is for you

I agree with @Zoro (who I kind of have a crush on Jimmy/Saul Goodman btw so love the avatar)

I read on womens forums they sometimes dont see results for a long time--not sure why maybe to do with strength and dosing.

Do you use 2 a day? two months is too soon...also keep in mind it may help you maintain which is still good..

My dermatologist told me to wait a year to evaluate with photos.

2 months is nothing and if you're not taking pics to track your progress then your mind will certainly play tricks on you because hair grows so slow you might not be able to notice there's been progress. You may even see it worse when it's really not. You need a reference point.

6 months+ is pretty much standard for any treatment concerning hair, regardless of what the labels say. Everything about hair is slow as f***.

I've spent years using Rogaine and generic Minoxidil (for women) and never really saw results. I blamed myself for not being consistent so I decided to follow a strict regimen of using Rogaine for women twice daily, and I did so religiously for 4 months. Still, I saw minimal results. Then, I purchased Walgreen's brand of Minoxidil for MEN (5%) - the LIQUID/eye dropper formula (I read lots of reviews that the Men's foam formula isn't very effective, so I stayed away from it). I used it once daily after work. In one month, I saw an obvious difference. In two months, even more. By 4 months, my hair was the fullest I can remember in my adult life. Then, as things go, I got complacent. About two months later, I brushed my hair and was shocked to see my scalp showing thru the entire top of my head and a huge gap in my part. I went back on my regimen (Men's generic liquid 5% Minoxidil) and after 3 weeks, I can already see the results. What I've learned is that men's liquid 5% formula works for me. The women's formula, twice a day, did nothing....and I started using it off and on since 2009.

I'm so glad I ignored all the warnings about women using the men's formula. As for the facial hair concern, I never use the Men's 5% before going to bed. I apply it when I get home from work at 6pm and wash my hair in the morning. I've had absolutely no issues with facial hair. However, when I first started using women's Rogaine, I would apply it before I went to bed and I had huge, long hairs growing out of my face.
I hope my experience helps. I have a bathroom cupboard full of hair growth products, i.e. LED lamps, massagers, sprays, fillers, extensions, hair growth shampoos, etc, and I feel so blessed to finally find something that works that I wanted to share it.
Oh, also, my hair dresser said to stop using volumizer shampoos. She said the best shampoo for hair loss are products like Biolage Color Last and Biolage Hydra Source Conditioner, which is really a detangling solution that prevents hair breakage and split ends. I've been using it for two weeks and have way less hair left behind in my brushes. Best of luck.

The mens 5% and the woman 5% are exactly the same thing.
It comes in foam or liquid which can be different but the male/female versions of each are exactly the same ingredients..5% is 5% LOL.

Glad it worked but this is 'silly' unless you were using different forms in each gender (foam vs liquid) or a different 2% vs 5%.

From what I understand the women's liquid is 2% while the foam is 5%?
