I started losing my hair my 2008 year in college. It is just now starting to become extremely noticable. I need to find something to stop this shed and I am running out of ideas!

I have been on propecia going on 2 years now. Luckily I have had no sides, but unfortunetly I have seen no positive results. While on propecia I was using minoxidil and nizoral. Worked the big 3 with no results.

For the past 6 months I have been using 2.5% RU. It definetly makes my hair appear thicker but the shed (50-150 hairs) wont stop! Started using Tricomin along with RU.

I would consider myself an N2. Thinning is more agressive in the front but is still noticable on the rest of my head. Probably would be classified as a diffuse thinner.

I have had my blood tested twice to check for any vitamin difficiences or anything that would cause hairloss. Clean bill of health with both tests.

So im wondering if im doomed to be hairless. (Atleast till I can afford an hair transplant). If all of these methods arent working, what else can I try?! I guess the next step were be dustasterside, but i cant get ahold of that in the US.

Anyone have any suggetions, advice or should i just start saving ?

I had to call few dermatologists before I got one that was willing to prescribe Avodart (dutasteride). So you'll definitely will get one, just most avoid prescribing it.

I'll be honest, if the big 3 didn't do anything then the only practical option is hair transplant. You'll be surprised how effective hair transplant's are. I'm personally thinking about dropping all my medication....save for hair transplant. Once I get hair transplant I'll be good for few years before it's noticeable again...BUT I'm pretty confident by then we'll have very effective treatments.

Anyways...good luck mate. But hair transplant seems like the most practical option. Hopefully you have good donor hair.

The only way is to add more new things into your regime.

1. Duta
2. MSM
3. Folligen

They may help.

Not familiar with MSM or Folligen. Care to elaborate or explain how to possibly get some ?

If u r a NW2 at the moment. Then it is probably slowing your loss down without you realising it. Your loss may be just ultra progressive at the moment and may slow down when you are NW2.5-3. Keep with the MEDS as your natural loss of hair may slow down on it's own accord and then MEDS could maintain what you have.

That's not a very satisfying answer. :dunno: Say if he was a NW3 already, would you advice him to wait till he's a NW4 and see if he loses less when he's at that stage? He already said he's annoyed at least by the thinning, so of coarse he wants to keep the hair like he has now, if not thicker. All what you're saying now is that nothing can be done about it, which is never what you want to hear in this situation. :thumbdown2:
