2 years on Propecia - not much change

Hey guys, new to the forum!

I've been on propecia 5mg (used to split the capsules into quarters but now half them) and my left temple has continued to recede, and my right is starting to thin.

Always been on and off with the itch, also been on and off the Nizoral.

I'm wondering if it's worth starting on minoxidil - is it likely to have any benefits? for the temples? considering I've been on finasteride for two years perhaps I'm maybe a none responder so it's not worth trying minoxidil?

will it help?

thanks!

thanks dude

but what's the likelihood of it giving me positive results?

many people on here say it causes even worse itching and shedding? the fact I've been on finasteride for two years now makes me wary...

No one can say. I would give it a shot. My dermatologist has told me of some of his patients who were able to completely regrow their hair with just minoxidil from being like a NW4. Most people won't have that reaction, but everyone is different. And minoxidil is completely different from propecia, so even if you don't respond to one doesn't mean you won't respond to the other. Personally I am in a similar boat and have continued to lose my hair on propecia and minoxidil, but who knows the minoxidil could work for you, so it doesn't hurt giving it a shot.

Finasteride and Minoxidil are the top two best easily available drugs for treating Male Pattern Baldness. It won't ever hurt to give those two treatments a try if you're legitimately balding.

johnmarsden, do give Minoxidil a try, it's certainly helped my hair grow better.

thanks the responses guys, completely mixed responses.

how can people say I'm not losing hair yet others class me as a norwood2?

it might not look bad to others but it's the start of something? after 2 years on finasteride too?

if u look closely you'll see (what I think is) diffuse thinning too?

and mad itching every day recently? does anyone know whether excessive itching is good or bad?!

Post a baseline pic if any or any pictures showing anything that resembles male pattern baldness.
