The doctor I saw really seems to know nothing? :S She said I have to see a specialist and that finasteride can't be prescribed in general practice :O
But that aside, she said there's nothing I can do about hair loss! :thumbdown2:

Did you ask her to make you a specialist appointment?

Maybe if you said that you're looking into getting finasteride from an online pharmarcy it might help move things along a little too.

If all else fails, I would recommend that you go to another doctor.

Since then I've even changed doctor and they've been fine with it - I even had a pharmacist chat with me about how much cheaper it is to get the 5mg pills and split them compared to 1mg 'propecia'.

Considering that you can get general 5mg finasteride tablets in UK pharmarcies now, I think it costs about £15 for 28, which will last you near enough to 4 months, so that's not too bad

I went to my doctor yesterday (different one this time) and he gave me a private prescription for 1mg tablets, I did ask for 5mg tablets but he said he can't do that as that's only for prostate cancer. I took the private prescription to a pharmacy, £115 for 3 months, pfft, so I asked them if i could have the cheaper 5mg tablets & cut them up but they said they can only give me the amount that's on the prescription :/

I am also with you . Purchasing online Generic product like generic v**** is beneficial. you can purchase it and it is very cheap and useful for better sex life.

I would try a totally different surgery, I think it's pretty irresponsible of your doctor to shaft you like this.

Just be sure to mention that you are willing to get 5mg tablets from an online pharmacy if they cannot give you a prescription for it.

Of course you could just go down that route anyway, plenty of people do!

Well he started going on about if something happeened to me and he was put in front of a panel and he'd have no explanation as to why he prescribed me 5mg finasteride
