20 years old, Corners receding, (PICS) plz help

had a really bad shed this fall, gf problems, college, ect; was really depressed and nervous alot. everyday during the shed like 20 hairs would be in the shower, and like 10-15 on my pillows. if i ran my hand thru my hair like 5 would be on my hand, with the white bulb on the end. it finally stopped but my hair line looks more receded now n a little thinner. i always had a widows peak my whole life. my hair was always thick too. multiple hair cutters told me that all the time.
right now i got Regene DR hair shampoo

what do u guys think, am i going to get worse?


my moms brother is bald, my dads brother is bald. my dads father was bald
my moms father had hair but receded but not bad
my dad has a pidows peak just like mine just his hair is very thin, looks pretty decent

It is really tough to say in what direction you will head in. It may get worse it may not. It does look like there is some thinning around the hairline which definitely isn't a good sign but it may not get worse. I would say start by adding nizoral 1% for a while then if you see it getting worse get on finasteride after a while.

See how your hairline just above your sideburns arches BACK? That's the same kind of hairloss, except mine is worse. Slight recession like yours is normal for most men, its part of becoming an adult. Where you should worry is if your hairline turns into this:

Don't expect miracles from any of the available treatments (finasteride and minoxidil). They almost never work as desired (full reversal) and mostly only work moderately for regrowth and often times not even for maintenance. Don't expect a 'cure' any time soon either seeing how all the biotechs claiming they'll have a cure, as they are overrun by incompetent losers who can't hit the deadlines after they flap their gums '2-5 years' before said deadline.

Get on the treatments though and make a wish, as thats basically all any hair loss sufferer has going for them; nothing is guaranteed.

if my hair looked like that at 50 i wouldnt be too upset, id just get a hair transplant. but honestly i hope it never gets like that at all lol. my biggest fear is i just loose it all on top, then look retarded

start finasteride and nizoral, if you wont suffer any side effects keep going for a while. and in the future you may add minoxidil. your hair looks like mine. i am 21 years old and when cut my hair short it looks bad.
so my advice is dont cut your hairs so short.

u may or may not go bald. it could stay like that forever, or it could slowly recede into Norwood 3 by age 50, or it could or go in the next year. the only sure fire way to know is get a miniturization study done by a derm, even then the timing still will be a guess.

but the thing noone wants to tell u is, theres nothing we can do. we cant even help ourselves, how can we help u?

u can try the big 3, u may be a great responder and give urself an extra 10 yrs of hair, but most likely it will just slow down the progression a little bit. theres not many good responders. people come on these forums and say omg, omg im receding help me, help me, but the reality is, theres nothing that really works well except transplants. and even they can become a mess if done wrong, and if ur a fast balder , theres not much donor hair to use.

so the best answer i can give is stop worrying about it, and enjoy it while u still have it. meet lots of girls, and start a career, because its much easier to handle when ur married and happy.

Absolutely nosense to drive him to big 3, it's not a soft treatment...
I advice blood test before doing anything

I don't even have to ask you to know that you've had side effects from finasteride.

for me it's clearly the begining of male pattern baldness, don't listen to all the ****ing bald guyz who are telling you to not start treatments etc.. If I post a picture of my hair everyone will say that i have NO hairloss, perfect hairline blablabla, but you know what I am on minoxidil nizoral and dutasteride, so **** these guyz and I am happy that i jumped into treatments 4 years ago!

Waiting until you have visible hair loss to start finasteride/dutasteride is not the right thing to do. You need to start meds at the first signs of male pattern baldness!!!!!!!!!!!!

what do u guys suggest, how long before u notice or dont notice side affects

i cannot take Rogaine/MOX it gave me crazy headaches and cloudy vision (serious) might have been cuz i was putting it on wet hair though..
