My point is that if mass hysteria can surround Finasteride even though it is generally a very safe drug then who's to say the same won't happen for the next big thing. I think at this point people are going to associate drugs that treat hair loss with Finasteride's side effects, heck I've seen quite a few people saying that topical Minoxidil has given them sexual side effects.

I see your point. I was imagining a household name drug that people know is a sure thing, but I guess Propecia should have been that and look how shunned it is.

It depends what happens, if it gets off the ground and the few guys with no boners are put down as a rare few and only a temporary side effect (as opposed to finasteride which has been seen as very likely and permanent- lol), nearly every bald guy will be buying it.

The main problem with "future miracle drugs" is the amount of time it takes to pass clinical trials and approvals...drug design , unless something really band happens like Ebola outbreak , usually takes around 10 years. Everything goes to hell if they fail one step of the trial of course, so a lot of them go back to drawing board even if they had something that was potentially good.
