Continue to monitor it. Hair loss typically begins from 19-21 slowly so it's either you always had a crown like that and didn't notice, or you are slowly beginning to lose hair there.

If in 6 months to a year you notice it thinning more, hop on finasteride. In the mean time for your dry scalp, get on Nizoral 3x a week and biotin.

Bump, today I found out through blood work that was aside from this, that I have a vitamin D deficiency. I'm now supplementing it. Do you think something like that could contribute this much? I haven't found much on significant that can be. Also my testosterone was low, which I assume means DHT production was low, so that couldn't be it.

Keep monitoring it, One good way to check is to get one of those usb microscopes which cost around 20 bucks on Amazon and observe if the new hair growing are thinner. You may also ask your Dermatologist to do that.

Overall there's no need to be worried.
Worst case scenario is that it is infact male pattern baldness. But, since you managed to catch it in early stages. You'll be able to keep and possibly regrow some of your hair with proper medication.
