Hi everyone. Long story short, went from NW1-ish to what looks like NW2-2,5 in a year or two. Currently 22 going into 23. Need advice concerning finasteride. Started it 4 months ago. No sides. Shedding went from 4-5 hairs to litterally hair everywhere, 10-15 in the shower, 15-20 when shaking hair, hair on pillow. Had what seems like vellus before but cannot seem to know if it has gotten better or worse. Also, head started itching about a month after staring, while it never itched before. So, what should I do? (First 3 photos are before. All photos taken with flash)

I have a similiar pattern - had the same experience wit finasteride as you had , no shed prior finasteride, insane shed after finasteride, hair looked absolute sh*t after 3 months on finasteride - however iam now at month 5 at is just a little under baseline, and my hairloss now seems stable (no increase or decrease in har atm) - probably not going to get better...

Head itching could be strictly in your head - mine went away after a really busy time where couldnt think of my hair 24/7 (odd right?!)

If you indeed went from a NW1 to that (almost nw3), in 2 years aswel as i did, you just gotta face facts, you are going to be bald at some point in your life, its simply to aggressive...

However finasteride seems to atleast maintain your hair, and may do so, till you hair is to sensitive to DHT, which is just a matter of time

What should you do? Keep being on finasteride, start minoxidil (iam on month 2 now and it has darkened my hair which seems like a good thing), save up for a transplant or 4, keep you hair for the next 10 years, and after that be bald with a good feeling of knowing you did everything you could.

Thank you for your answer, please keep me updated on your progress. I had this hair in november of last year... sigh makes me sad to look at it. Dad and uncle both have receded hairline but no crown loss.. still hair there at 44. Gives me hope. Itching I would like to be in my head but it really is noticeable.. oh well i'll try to ignore it. Currently using regenepure too, I might hop on minoxidil, but being 22 I have a lifestyle which might make it difficult to be consistent with it. Lost a lot of density on finasteride, but seems to be little hairs growing inside my long hairs, so who knows.

Continue finasteride. I experienced the same things as you did. At month 4 I got a bit of regrowth and stabilization. I'm currently in month 7 and I can see so many little hairs popping up all over my scalp, I hope they push through this year.
