@AnxiousAndy Just before I pop these things, you would definitely say I have male pattern baldness right?? Haha, not gonna see a dermatologist and like I said before, you know what's good. Thanks bro!

I would say without a doubt you have male pattern baldness, but it is mild. finasteride isn't guaranteed to work but its the safest long-term treatment available right now.

Hey so just got my 1mg Finesteride. Think I am just going to take .5mg every other night, and if I don't get any sides I will up the dosage! I just want to ease my body onto finasteride slowly, any thoughts? I really just want to maintain at this point as well if I am a Norwood 2, if I can get re growth that would be great but I want to take the least amount of the drug as I possibly can. I will keep you guys posted on how everything is going! Wish me luck, yew!
good luck man! I think it's good to start on a lower dose and slowly move yourself up, that's what I did after talking to a few members on this forum. That's exactly how I feel too, I don't want to take more than I need to keep my hair, but it's good that we both caught it early so we can hopefully maintain for the next decade :) Let us know how you do!

Was having some chest pains around 6 days in so I stopped, been off for about 5 days now and I went to the doctor as well. He checked my heart and lungs and said everything looked good. Don't know if the finasteride was the cause? Anyways, I started with .5mg ED, my Doctor said maybe stop taking the finasteride but I want to try one more time. What do you think of .25mg 3 times a week? Do you think my body was just adjusting? Im super bummed I was very confident and happy while I was on it.

what kind of chest pains did you have? I had some chest sensitivity and tenderness, but not actual pain where it hurt to move or anything like that...it felt a bit numb at times and I also had some tingling around the area and some discomfort. I also had some swelling and me messing with my chest checking my nipples and for swelling every 30 seconds really irritated it for awhile..

my dermatologist said it's very unlikely for that low of a dose of finasteride to even cause that kind of feeling so quickly after taking it (few weeks), but he did say it was possible and said I could be uniquely sensitive to the medication. He told me to continue taking the medication and if it continued, to either lower it to 0.25mg every other day or every day, or even stop. If you really want to try again, I suggest taking 0.25mg every day and slowly build up to it, try not to think about the side effects and keep yourself really busy. The mind is powerful and can physically cause the symptoms you're worried about if you keep thinking about it.

IF if you still feel pain or any other side effect after 0.25mg every day, try every other day. If that doesn't work then I would suggest discussing with the dermatologist before deciding to quit. Don't give up!

Try finasteride. If you get sides that are still there after a week or two then quite if you can't bear with them. A decent amount get sides but most don't.

I even stepped up to dutasteride since then without sides so there is no reason to fear it to later regret you didn't start earlier. You can always quit, nobody is forcing you to take the pill. :)
