My finasteride came in the mail a couple weeks ago and i've finally decided that i'm going to just jump in and take it. I was wondering what your thoughts on an appropriate dosage for my case.

I have non-noticable hairloss (to others). One night I was lying in bed and BAM I developed ITCHY scalp and dandruff. Ever since then a lot more hair was on my hands while shampooing. My hair is still pretty thick but I've noticed a slight change in my hair texture and color (a lot straighter/flatter and lighter). I can also see some thinning in the front and at the temples... I don't think this was the beginning of my hairloss, I think it started a year or two before that when I first devoloped a V in the front of my hairline (not temples, the actual front). And the V is just getting bigger and bigger. But since the dandruff, the hairloss seems a lot more aggressive.
Also, even though my skin isn't to be very acne-prone, I have developed lots of little (not very noticable) acne bumps on my upper back and shoulders.

So what do you guys think? A small .25, .5 or just eat the whole thing?

The only considerations are price and side effects. If you've got the money to take 1mg a day (and really it isn't that much), and you get no sides from it, then I'd go for that. If you do get sides, it might be worth lowering the dosage to see if that helps.

If your hairloss is very mild like you say, then I'd say go for the .5, that way it should help you enough, and if your hairloss ever picks up, then you can always up it to 1mg.
