Hello everyone, new member here!

I've never had any problems with my hair. My hair grows VERY quickly and is VERY thick (its ~9in. on the top, which took around 9 months). I had a very childlike hairline until I was about 21. Over the past 1-1.5 years though, my hair has been receding on my forehead. I just chalked it up to becoming older and FINALLY getting my mature hairline. Lately though, it seems to be getting worse. It's visually obvious that my temples are now receding/thinning, and I can see those little hairs at the base of my hairline along my forehead. I do NOT have problems with shedding.

I posted some pics to explain my situation and display my observation (Hair is dry in the pictures, and was under a hat all day). Sorry if they're a little large, but I wanted to make sure the detail was shown.

My current hair washing regiment is conditioner ONLY and I only use conditioner that is silicone/paraben free (Silicone makes my hair poof out like an afro). I use clarifying shampoo twice a month just to get all of the crud in the air/oil off of my scalp and out of my follicle pores.

What the hell?!?!?!?!

" I had a very childlike hairline until I was about 21. Over the past 1-1.5 years though, my hair has been receding on my forehead"

Yeah...I think you need a reality check. Your hairline is still child like and your hair is going to make everyone on this forums jealous and upset.

The hair in the corners of your hairline might be beginning to thin, it's hard to tell. If you are really concerned then you could start using Finasteride, but Minoxidil would be a waste of time at this point.

OP, if I were you, I'd just take Finasteride to be on the safe side if you're in the earliest stages of Male Pattern Baldness. No need for Ketoconazole nor Minoxidil since it seems like you don't need either of those two.

Wow, what a rude community. It was a simple question. This is a hair loss forum and I noticed hair changes (I've never had this before). Didn't realize I was going to get attacked. I'm at that age where I wasn't sure if it was thinning/receding or not.

Agustin, Thank you for answering my question and not attacking me. This is what I was more interested in (Long Term Prevention). I guess I'll give it another year or so and see what happens.

Can see rapid miniaturisation all along the temples. Better book yourself in for an emergency transplant or will you be slick bald before the end of the month. I would predict 10,000-12,000 grafts to salvage that absolute trainwreck of a hairline.

Sure thing Kovalchuk71. Yeah, some members on here can be quick to attack and purposely give misleading advice to those who come on here with minimal/no hair loss asking for help. I apologize about that. There are many of us here who weren't able to catch possible hair loss at the earliest stages, like your self for example, and keep all our hair in the long-term due to not being informed of proper treatments or not wanting to risk possible side effects. And yes, long-term prevention is the best thing we can do in our current times.

What I'd do right now if I were you is go make an appointment to see a hair transplant surgeon and get checked for Male Pattern Baldness. If you do have the condition, then yes, start taking Finasteride ASAP to prevent any further miniaturization of the hair follicles. I wouldn't 'wait and see what happens' if I were you since there have been too many victims to that kind of curiosity and cost them to lose a lot of hair because of that.

Fair enough man. Definitely worth going to a derm to put your mind at rest. I've always wondered why people don't get check ups every 6 months, then once any miniaturization is seen, you could jump on finasteride straight away. You've got hair texture and the hairline of one of those footballers that plays for Real Madrid or something. Very enviable :p.

They're rude because you obviously did ZERO research on what recession actually is/what it looks like before coming here and saying you're going bald.

You'll know if you're receding because you'll have RECESSION.

Fair enough. I've seen a good amount of miniaturization all along my hairline and have seen it for a while now, so I guess I jumped the gun and freaked out.

My apologies. Didn't mean to irk anyone here.
