.25mg finasteride...what % dht inhibited?

Not exactly an answer to your question but along the right lines.
It has been posted on this forum that 1mg/d (the usual dose) is 83% as effective as 5mg/d. Also, 0.2mg/d is 82% as effective as 1mg/d
The graph isn't linear but 0.25mg will be a bit more than 82%
btw a dose of 0.75 mg/d is about 95% as effective as 1mg/d

Yes, finistrade. 0.25mg/d should be about say 85% as effective as the normal 1mg dose. I've not read the studies but maybe % 'effective' is equivalent to reduction of DHT amount. The graph seems to level out as dosage (x axis) is increased so it is like diminishing returns for larger doses and conversely the change in effectiveness is greater for inccremental smaller doses (below about 1mg).
just remember that finasteride has a cummulative effect in the body... that means it continues to build in the blood after continuous usage... with that said, .25mg ed or possibly every other day will be of benefit and have a good dht effect... I necesarily believe that you dont have to destroy all dht in the body which when doing that gives the unpleasant side effects... I think you just need to reduce dht levels enough back to tolerable dht levels that the body can handle without inducing hairloss.....

i thought 0.5mg had approximately 80% effectiveness as 1mg and then 0.25 had 80% effectiveness as 0.5mg, not 0.25mg having 80% effectiveness as 1mg.

hmmm, im really thinking bout going a different route instead of 1mg a day. i may do 1mg every other day or 0.5mg a day, which du reckon?? coz dnt it have a half life etc...
well, according to the FDA studies,
0.2mg is just as effective as 1mg!!!!!!!!!

^holy sh*t!! is that real? thats one great study for people who gets sides or want to save money. im experiencing sum sort of side effect

^blakes, u seem to be finding very relevant information. have u come across any studies to do with propecia and fertility ATALL????
no---i haven't seen any studies on fertility---that was an issue i worried about too
however, i can tell you that after over 8 years of taking propecia, i got my wife pregnant within 1 month of her coming off the pill, and we have a healthy baby boy!!!! :lol:
