27,don't Know If Hair Is Thinning Or Not

Hey all!so I'm 27 years old. No family history of hair loss. My dad is almost 60 with thick full head of hair. Not sure if I'm being paranoid or my hair is thinning. The last haircut I went to a new lady and she said oh your hair is thinning and she tried to sell me expensive shampoo. So I don't know if that was a sales pitch or not. When my hair is short on the sides and my hairs messy from bed you can see my scalp like this picture.i honestly don't know if it's always been like this or not I've only realized it the last 3 years with no change. I also posted a picture from the front. I am on meds that lower testosterone and have symptoms of hair loss. What are your thoughts on my case ?

honestly pictures the just aren't good enough. I could easily see it going both ways, the picture just doesn't have enough lighting to reveal the truth. Take the pictures that show the sides and the top of the head more so we can see any potential contrasting areas of thickness. Its very common to look thin on the sides like that especially if you have bed hair however its also common for it to diffuse in such a way too so thats why we need better pics.

After my haircut. I've been on meds for 5 years that are open to thin hair. They lower testosterone and thyroid levels. ? What do you guys think?

You definitely don't have male pattern baldness. DUPA stands for diffuse unpatterned alopecia. It is a type of hair loss where you evenly thin all over the entire scalp. Your hairline is still intact.

To stop the thinning you would need to start Finasteride or Dutasteride. Only medicines that can slow down or halt thinning and even thicken it up. But they do have side effects that can be pretty bad.

I honestly don't think you have a problem. Or at least not yet.

Yes it seems to be thinning equally everywhere but mostly on the top and I can see my scalp under very bright lights. Is there another forum section I should ask about these drugs or can I ask here the side affects.
