Add a growth medication, and stay on Finasteride. Personally I think you should add Minoxidil.

Usually the results of Finasteride are seen after six weeks.

Are there people who suffer from baldness on either side of your family?

Unfortunately there are fourteen percent of men who have a certain gene that causes them
to lose hair really early in life. It's unlikely you have it, but it's the same chance as being
born left handed. For those men, unfortunately, nothing will help them.

I cant commit to minoxidil right now. I might add it down the road. My whole family on one side is bald basically..other side all have hair. Im also left handed lol

Where are you getting 6 weeks from? A lot of places I have read say 6 months

Before I started finasteride my hair wasn't bad anywhere but crown. I had some thinning on my vertex as bad but hardly noticeable.

Been on for 3 months now and my hair is worse than ever. My overall density is way less (maybe 20-40 %), and now my vertex has thinned so much I have a tuft formed on my forelock. Crown also looks way worse

Should I keep taking finasteride?

I feel you bro. I started taking finasteride in January and my hair is definitely thinner compared to when I first started. My hairline has receded more and you can now see my scalp clearly in the crown. It's extremely depressing.

Holy sh*t, like looking in a mirror. We are like the same person. I hope it doesn't end for you like it did for me brother. Hang in there and listen to your scalp.

Yep =/. Good luck. I hear people say that if you shed you have good chance at regrowth, but I have no idea if theres any truth to that. logically it doesn't make much sense...

It’s ridiculous. What’s the point of maintenance after giving up years in the shed? 5 months in topical. Was 1/1.5 diffuse. I lost my temples and forelock after 2 months. Hair quality is garbage and the shed only gets worse.

I have been on finasteride for around 15 months. It does not seem to have slowed my hair loss. I am not sure though whether it is helping to preserve the sides, which i need if I go for a hair system: so am in a bit of a dilemma. Also, have had very little in the way of side effects until recently when I get periodic aches in the testicles. Not painful, but annoying and disturbing: especially when it happens in the night. Would be interested to know whether others experienced this after such a long period and whether it went away. I assume after 15 months that finasteride will not work for me, but anxious to hear from anyone who had results after being on for a longer period.

How can anyone judge from those pics....the first ones were dry and different light, second wet of course it'll look worse and also if it's worse that's because you had alot of affected hairs and finasteride kicked em out to make room for less dht affected hairs. God some people and there fear mongering.

Unless you’ve dyed your hair from light brown to dark brown, it’s hard to compare the pictures. Wetness makes hair look far thinner, so it seems you may be convincing yourself of doom.

I’m entering month eight on Finasteride. I often tend to convince myself that my hair is getting worse, but I’ve found that I have good and bad days. At the end of the day, if you still have hair, the Finasteride is doing its job. Who’s to say you wouldn’t be completely bald if you never took it in the first place! Be patient, man! My hair was shedding bad up until now, and it seems to have finally halted.
