1. When u put stuff like T Gel or nezerol on in the shower, how long to you keep it on? Since I've heard Nezerol is a DHT blocker, i figure the more the merrier and try to keep in on there for 3 or 4 minutes then rinse and do it again.

2. I was thinking about getting blonde throughout some of my hair....Is this ok given the treatments I use (Propecia, Rogaine, Nexerol -T-gel)? Should I have any problems?

Thanks in advance

Nizoral should be kept on the head about 5 minutes before rinsing out for optimal results. Once every 3 days. I wouldn't count on it to regrow much hair in the form of a DHT blocker.. not alone anyways. It is more for keeping your scalp in good condition, helping to eliminate dandruff, itchyness, etc. A must have though.

I don't know about dying your hair blonde though.

its not a dht blocker, just keeps the scalp in good shape for growth...

shampoos like nizoral or generally other chemical shampoos that r for dealing with itchy or flaking scalps r quite strong..i wouldnt recommend u keep applying it and reapplying it in the same shower, could b seriously damaging and stripping nutrients from ur hair.

From my personal experience I have to second what youngguy UK says. Nizoral is a very strong shampoo and from personal experience it can be rather rough on your hair's condition. Multiple applications in a single bathing might keep your scalp healty for regrowth, but might also strip your hairs so badly as to make the regrown hair look unhealthy.

I'm one who tends to stick to what the label says for any kinds of medications. That means Nizoral ONCE per bathing, every few days in my opinion frankly.

Thanks for the replies, but if u read what the bottle of nizerol, it says to "rinse and repeat." Thats the only reason I was doing it.

nizoral everyday

i use nizoral 2% everyday, ussaly. An there has been some proof that nizoral helps wash away excess DHT on the scalp. But i dont use it that much for this reason. i use it to stop the flaking. Im on finasteride and xandrox 5%, for about a month. and i think im starting to see something more then when i was on finasteride alone. but anyway. if i dont use it everyday my hair get pretty flaky. and my hair isnt dried out.

I just read my Nizoral bottle and you are RIGHT. It does say to repeat.

Gardener stands corrected.

Gardener still stands by his advice and will not use Nizoral twice, lest my hair turn into a brittle straw patch.

im pretty sure most shampoo bottles say that, probably just so buyers go through bottles more quickly? seriously, netime in the past ive used nizoral or anti-flaking shampoos and gone over the top with washing, its not been good for the hair condition. great for the scalp yeah but not the hair. just talking from whats been the case with me..i found using it once every 2nd day then once every 3 days after say a few weeks, without repeats, gets rid of itching and doesnt screw up ur hair.
