4 months on finasteride, digestive problems

I'm on finasteride now for about 4 / 5 months.
So far I've had none of the common side effects.

Only one thing is bothering me quite much; since I've start taking finasteride I've had some digestive problems.
Ã￾ feel quite bloated and I am really gassy all the time (stinks really bad too). When I'm at home I don't really care, but there are a lot of places which make this a big problem;)

Are there any other people who experienced this kind of side effects too?

I take my 1,25mg finasteride (fincar 5mg divided by 4) right before I go to sleep.
Would it be an idea to take the finasteride in the morning after breakfast or something? Maybe taking a lower dose? Any other ideas?

I do not want to quit finasteride, but this is really starting to be a problem...
I'm not 100% sure I have these problems because of the finasteride, but it started around the same time I started finasteride...

I actually hopped onto brand name propecia about 4 days ago as oppose to my generic brand I get and I feel it's helping digestion wise, I think the fillers in the generics could have caused me the problem.

propecia was ten dollars more expensive than my generic, i was paying 58 for generic and now pay 67 for name brand. I like name brand cause i tend to split the pill in half and enjoy the peace of mind knowing its easily distributed. Also, i can now say for a fact that the fillers in the generic definately didnt digest well with me. this morning in the bathroom went alot smoother than usual and i seem to have lost about 3 pounds in the past 5 days. Even if name brand was 30 dollars more id rather dish out the money than feel bloated all the time. Also, im a student so i dont really have any housebills. i pay my car, my phone and my propecia so i guess i may have a bit more disposable income than a full time worker.

You pay'd $58 for generic? I see that you are located in Ottawa I'm curious do you have like no healthcare benefits at all? I mean I only drop $2 a month on Finasteride and $2 a month on Dutasteride my healthcare covers the rest.

I have noticed digestive problems - feel like i'm not relieving my bowels as much.

Might be coincidental. Dunno what to do though.

Ia, are you on name brand though? I felt the exact same. Now with a change of diet, name brand propecia and 200 mg dim supplement a day I feel as I'm regaining relief when I go to the bathroom

Nope, inhousepharmacy - works well, I'l give it that.

However, it feels like it has been affecting the digestive system - which i never had problems with before.

I don't want to sound like a hypochondriac but im positive it is that.

What is a dim supplement - hope that doesn't sound silly lol?

Have you ever tried taking 1mg daily? Or you taking half the dosage since start

Most people only have to take half the pill or .5mg. You get almost the same effect from .3mg s you do with 1mg. You just lower your chances of any side effects (if you even get them).

I've ordered some brand propecia MSD (instead of the fincar from inhouse-pharmacy), hope this sorts the problem...

Weird question but do you guys also have the really, really smelly gas problem? I never had this so bad in my live, I really believe it's because of the finasteride..

My right temple is growing back really well. My left too but slower - that was the worst. I am an NW2 but the temples thinned out.

No pains anymore when before they were unbarable. Hairloss after showering is non-existant now.

I also take 15mg of Zinc, Biotin and Vitamin E too.

This is to mitigate the side effects (zinc mainly - the others are just good for your health).

Awesome man that's great! I'm always torn between upping my dose or not but I think I will stay at what I am at cause that day off really helps me whether it's sunconscially or not with sides. I don't suffer any in the sexual section but sometimes I do feel tired for nothing and too lazy to go meet up with friends (which really isn't me) but I'd take 3 or 4 off days a month to keep my hair.

Also DIM is a supplement that helps people regulate estrogen and apparently turns the bad estrogen into good 3strogen.
I can't say I really know much about it but it helps me, I think you should try it out man. I pay 40 bucks for 2 months worth so it's not bad

By the way bro how old are you now? Is ur hairloss aggressive? I feel mine is and that's why I feel I should be taking a higher dose, but in 3 months thay I've been on finasteride I definately got some overall thickening coming along.

I take omega 3 actually also whenever I remember I just feel like it makes sense. Omega 3 helps liver digestion --> finasteride gets digested by liver
